You could have something happen in your life and go out and without any effort kill a whole score of people, you can't say your life won't go in that direction and that gun will allow you to kill a whole bunch of people from your own room.
And what's the use about going on about what ifs when they never take place in the majority of cases? A what if is no real justification to put the legitimate gun owners into difficulty. We can go on until the cows come home about hypothetical situations, but unless something actually happens there's no use in moaning about the availability of guns.
Could this incident have been stopped if the individual had gotten proper mental health assistance? perhaps. Would it have turned out differently if he hadn't possessed a firearm? most likely, but the hatred he demonstrated towards his victims was so plainly obvious, that even had he no firearm to begin with, he would have attacked them in other ways (with a knife, automobile collision) or even might have gone and purchased a gun on the black market for this specific purpose.
Legislation alone isn't going to solve problems. Complete gun control won't solve anything either. Complete gun control will only lead to a prohibition-esque situation where you can still easily get the now 'illegal' guns if you simply find a source willing to trade them.
The woman that was being reported has went through surgery and is now stabilized.
Can't wait when this guy is sentenced to death and his last thoughts are about the 4 grieving families he has devastated.
why the fuck is it even an argument lol, how do you do a spree killing with a knife without anybody being able to stop you, cut it off with the fucking knives they're not relevant.
You haven't heard of all the stabbing sprees in the past few years?
Why do you take this to a personal level?
Arent you the one calling people outcasts, psychopaths, and just attempted to say i was disconnected from society because of my post count?
Im not the one taking it to a personal level, bruh.
Wasnt there a stabbing spree in Australia not too long ago?
haven't there been like fucking 12 mass shootings in America in only the past couple of years?
no it doesn't, how does anything like the V-Tech shootings happen with a knife? these acts of mass murder couldn't possibly be done by one guy with a fucking knife, don't be so foolish.
Plenty of spree stabbings have happened. Haven't there been a few in just the last few weeks around Europe of groups of people getting randomly stabbed?

bro.
you live in a country where one deranged psycho walked into a kindergarden and shot up 20 kids. and these events happen regularly.
no it doesn't, how does anything like the V-Tech shootings happen with a knife? these acts of mass murder couldn't possibly be done by one guy with a fucking knife, don't be so foolish.
They happen all the fucking time. The mortality rate is arguably lower (on average shootings don't result in deaths) but it's pretty plain evidence that the problem is not with guns or the 33% of Americans that own them. It's with the people who make up their minds to kill and will use whatever they can get their hands on. Banning guns will not solve the problem, only one symptom, and will constitute a severe rights violation for the many, many law abiding gun owners.

Australias: 23 million people
America: 318 million people
Oh boy i wonder which country is more likely to have nutcases.

That isn't even taking into account our severe issues with mental health care, the criminal justice system, education, poverty... all of which Australia has mostly in check. It's blindingly obvious that guns are not the problem to anyone who's willing to look at more than one set of misrepresented numbers.
Account suspended. That was quick.
Bullshit quick, because Twitter Support doesn't react that fast to multiple accounts in a row getting serial hijacked, if at all.
This is why the Internet Archive is important. Now they just gave the defense AND especially the jury a free "where's the beef?" remark to use.
Why do you take this to a personal level?
If you're so convinced your argument is infallible, then why don't you tell Obama to take away our guns?

good thing statistics take these things into account and present them per capita

*with guns
and these events happen regularly.
Yeah, I can assure that, I walked to school last week and got shot 17 times by a mentally insane person. Just today my friend was killed in a mass shooting at my high school, don't forget the mass shooting at my cities kindergarten a few days ago.
They happen far less regularly than you seem to think.

how is this an excuse lol? shouldn't ALL the fucking guns Americans have in comparison to Australians mean that there should be less of a possibility for deranged psychopaths to kill a bunch of people?

have you heard of this shit happening with the same regularity as in AMerica ANYWHERE else in the world?
bro.

Bro, you live in a country where your people supported facist regimes and where people are being imprisoned for thinking of voting wrong.
Wasnt there a stabbing spree in Australia not too long ago?
Yes, and in the past year there were also mass stabbings in Tel Aviv and Pennsylvania

Blindingly? You don't think that having a ton of guns in the wild with easy access to them has even the slightest bit to do with it?
good thing statistics take these things into account and present them per capita
There haven't been 12 mass shootings per 100,000 people. There have been 12 mass shootings per 318,000,000 people. That comes out to just about no fucking mass shootings.
Cool sociopathy. Callous disregard for the rights and thoughts of others.
and even then we don't have spree killings! do you not see what's wrong with that statement?

Have you ever seen or held a firearm? In the case that you have, did you hear it urging you to commit a crime? Because if so, the problem is with you, not the gun.
bro.

Not exactly. They are not as frequent as you think, hell gun crime rates in the US are and have been dropping for the past few decades. I understand you only see the news from outside the US, but it's not as bad as you are thinking it is. It's fucking tragic, but none of the laws even PROPOSED after Sandy Hook would've prevented it.
Bro, you live in a country where your people supported facist regimes and where people are being imprisoned for thinking of voting wrong.
The great American Revolution was fought with hugs and peaceful protesting
Without armed revolution u bongs wouldn't even have light bulbs ffs

No, because American news doesn't tend to report on shit outside of America other than war.
They happen all the fucking time. No, but banning guns will save more lives in the long run. How can you be so ignorant to not recognize this fact?
Most mass shootings are done in a blind fury. I sincerely doubt that Sandy Hook would have happened if the shooter hadn't been able to grab his parent's gun. Do you sincerely think that he would have taken the time and effort to go out and find a gun to continue doing it, or do you think he would have realized after waiting a little while and spending the effort to get it that "hey, this is fucked up". Yes, people will still find other ways to do it - knives, cars, etc. But the mortality rate would be much lower and more lives would be spared.
I seriously don't understand how incredibly dense Americans are when it comes to their "conshtitushiuonal right". If guns were not so easily and readily available (e.g in their fucking parents lockup) then half of these mass shootings would not occur.

Even with the best checks in place there's going to be crazy people who want to kill others. Easy access to guns doesn't help that at all.
