I think the Chinese army cuts important corners to get so many soldiers, like how they do the same with their products
I think China is more fearful of other nations rather than creating a empire.
Kinda makes sense, since they already have a world labour monopoly, which is kind of like an economic empire when you think about it.
I think the Chinese army cuts important corners to get so many soldiers, like how they do the same with their products
They have a relatively small army compared to its population size.
except that is bullshit iceland has good laws, but no military north korea has a massive military but is a brutal dictatorship
North Korea has a massive military but is not well armed and I wasn't referring to "good laws" in the perspective of the state, not you.
North Korea has a massive military but is not well armed and I wasn't referring to "good laws" in the perspective of the state, not you.
your sentence is illogical, are you sying north korea has good laws?
I think China is more fearful of other nations rather than creating a empire.
Partially, but it's mostly because they want to extend their influence Asia. [editline]30th December 2010[/editline]
your sentence is illogical, are you sying north korea has good laws?
Read the first part. It has a massive and all consuming military, but it is not well armed. It's 80% bloat and obsolete equipment.
Read the first part. It has a massive and all consuming military, but it is not well armed. It's 80% bloat and obsolete equipment.
yes but what are you saying is the relationship between laws and military?
About a time China cuts it's lawn.
Well fuck.
yes but what are you saying is the relationship between laws and military?
If the state has the ability to project coercive force outwards and inwards without any hindrance they will also have the ability to shape their own laws as they wish, thus in theory leading to laws that are beneficial for the state if we discount things like corruption and plain stupidity.
If the state has the ability to project coercive force outwards and inwards without any hindrance they will also have the ability to shape their own laws as they wish, thus in theory leading to laws that are beneficial for the state if we discount things like corruption and plain stupidity.
the better armed the military, the better laws?
the better armed the military, the better laws?
From the perspective of the state, not you. Well armed doesn't necessarily entail only airburst grenade launchers and JDAM systems, good intelligence counts for alot for example.
From the perspective of the state, not you. Well armed doesn't necessarily entail only airburst grenade launchers and JDAM systems, good intelligence counts for alot for example.
nonono im not talking about what constitutes well armed. Are you saying that if north korea were considered well armed, that they would have good laws?
The US was also preparing for war with Canada/The British Empire in the 1930s. Google the 'Rainbow Plans'. Just because they're preparing for conflict doesn't mean they're going to start one. It's a military's job to always be prepared for any danger.
nonono im not talking about what constitutes well armed. Are you saying that if north korea were considered well armed, that they would have good laws?
The state of being well armed could be defined as being able to project your hard power inwards and outwards with great potency. Thus, when you (as in the state) is well armed, you have the capacity to remove any physical obstacle like dissenters for example, greatly simplifying the lawmaking process in your favour.
Doesn't the US prepare for armed conflict in every direction... every day?
Doesn't the US prepare for armed conflict in every direction... every day?
America just feels that it's losing its monopoly to assert their influence globally and resorts to calling anyone building up their own power independent from the US as a "dire threat to regional security and stability".
America just feels that it's losing its monopoly to assert their influence globally and resorts to calling anyone building up their own power independent from the US as a "dire threat to regional security and stability".
I think it's interesting how assured Facepunch is in their views of the world, regardless of how retarded they are
I think it's interesting how assured Facepunch is in their views of the world, regardless of how retarded they are
Did you really take that seriously? Sorry you read it that way.

If China really did anything big, I bet that they wouldn't get far. China may be strong, but all the other nations together could woop China's ass.
America is prepared for Armed conflict in every direction. We have army bases across several countries, and we have battle fleets running laps across the oceans. China has a growing economy. If they can afford it, why wouldn't they increase their military power?
China would never side with a smaller country such as North Korea, especially with their political "practices", not to mention that they rely on the United States as consumers.

Every direction? They're compensating for something.
"Every direction" includes not only the cardinal directions but up and down as well What is China planning??
They will take on aliens and the molemen aswell.
Maybe if they get their technology up high enough to be useful.
Well fuck.
Every direction? They're compensating for something.
Are you fucking kidding me? More like America has been compensating for their militaristically shitty dick since the end of World War 2. See Jewsus post with the stupid budged thing in which he thinks military budged=army performance 'n' efficiency. This thread will be one of those filled with ignorant americans who try to prove everyone that AMERIKU=STRONG [editline]30th December 2010[/editline] I mean come on, your fucking soldiers cry already in a insurgent mortar attack.
