One lucky Kiwi gamer will be the first in the world to get his or her hands on the new Xbox One console when it launches next week, but until then the next-generation device will be placed under tight security - in a shark tank at Kelly Tarlton's.
Twenty sharks will spend the week looking after the console, to be sealed in a waterproof case today.
A diver at the marine attraction in Auckland will place the perspex-encased Xbox above the moving walkway, 3.5m underwater.
Xbox New Zealand public relations lead Steven Blackburn said the sharks were the best "body guards".
Insert your "jumped the shark" joke of preference here.
finally, nerts got a new job
Despite this, the true reason is because the sharks have no interest in the Xbone due to it's bad taste making it easy to decieve people to make them think they are 'protecting' it. But the sharks do agree they should remove the device from their tank due to it's pollution rather than force them to watch over it cause they have no interest
The logical explanation
I hope someone steals it.

jesus, you guys are no fun
jesus, you xbones are no fun
Hope there is a leak in the box.
I hope the sharks damage / destroy it
I feel sorry for the sharks, it must be crammed in that tank now.
Microsoft is literally making it impossible to jump ship on the xbox
What if the waterproof case only works if the Xbox One is connected to the internet?
jesus, you guys are no fun
More like the guy who steals it will be having no fun.

So that's what that shark Doritos commercial was about
jesus, you guys are no fun
MS hopes someone will steal it.
Then they can say "they braved even some sharks to get our console."
It's okay though, the sharks swim away when you get near them.
Guys I don't think were thinking clearly? I mean who would want to steal it anyways
hi
dont worry we have this piece of shit under tight security.

This is getting lots of dumbs but tbh it's true, and I imagine if this was a PS4 article then you guys would think it was the best thing in the world (and I can't say I'd disagree, it's pretty interesting) but because the Xbox One does it, it's no good anymore? Oh no a Microsoft PR department is actually doing something right and actually cool! But might as well rate it dumb anyway, because Xbox lol.
Dr Evil was never very bright was he

i think it's more on the matter that they're trying too hard
Is it just me or does the fact that they've built a giant xbox one, made an xbox one hotel, and now they're putting an xbox in a fucking shark tank all seem like they're just trying to do ridiculous shit as some means of getting back in everybody's good graces?

It would still be fucking stupid. Just less laughable because Sony hasn't made a buffoon of themselves.

I would still love to see everyones reaction if it was Sony doing this, anyone can say what they would or wouldn't do if something happened, and they might be completely right, but until it actually happens we can never really know. It is my honest opinion that people here would think it was the best thing ever if Sony did it, but just like how they might be completely right, I might be completely wrong, but I guess we can never know unless Sony suddenly plans to do this months after the PS4 release.
Don't tap the glass, you'll upset the Xbox.
Alright boys, this is the big one.
what kind of sharks
