Violent Games Legislation Introduced to US Congress

I'm not sure the ESRB is even capable of handling the deluge of casual little mobile games, let alone online-only indy games and all of that.
This is poorly-worded enough to be like requiring ratings on youtube videos.
I think the USA is turning into Nazi Germany, people are constantly being blamed for an increase in violence, just like what the government in Germany did when the Nazis were ruling
Every time I say this people say I'm exaggerating, but look how OK the people of Germany were with the Nazi's before all that shit happened

literally the definition of godwin's law
ESRB was already pretty much enforced all across North America by stores so I really don't see why this is such a big issue. other forms of media are enforced in the same way.

iirc that is, I could be wrong.
It shall be unlawful for any person to ship or otherwise distribute in interstate commerce, or to sell or rent, a video game that does not contain a rating label, in a clear and conspicuous location on the outside packaging of the video game, containing an age-based content rating determined by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board.
There are a couple of problems with this: A) Digital distribution and B) the ESRB charges a fee for ratings and requires you to apply as a video game publishing or development company to even get recognition. This would rip the indie market to shreds.
If you are a game publisher and/or developer and have not yet registered to receive a User Name and Password, you must apply by mail. Please provide a cover letter on company letterhead describing your company, the product(s) intended to be submitted for rating, past products developed, and general information including your website address, full contact information (phone, mail, e-mail), list of executive officers and designated ESRB contact person within your company.
Just make it so you can only purchase games with a credit card, problem solved.
Even if this passes there is no way they would be able to stop kids from accessing games over Steam and other online distribution services. This is a waste of time and energy. Not to mention there is absolutely no proof that violent video games leads to IRL violence.
