The apocalypse is not supposed to look pretty people stop complaining
(I actually like it, fall out 3 and new vegas didn't sit well with me color-wise and for other reasons but seeing more color has me interested in giving it another shot)
You guys are literally judging it like its a finished product, when we've only seen 1 trailer and a few screenshots. Is there no pleasing gamers anymore?

No. We're all a bunch of whiny, entitled, petulant God-forsaken commie bastards.
Or something like that. I don't know anymore. Don't really care either. I'm going to go play some videogames.

Unfortunatly no.
One day it just seemed like the internet was all about being overtly nit-picky and pessimistic about just anything, not even just the games that do look sad or shit like say, EA's Star Wars Battlefront.

Honestly, even Battlefront doesn't look terrible. The engine they're using looks pretty good (we'll have to see how it looks on consoles, of course), and if it were any other game than Battlefront the feature set would be okay. I can't hate it without playing it, and I'm hesitant to pass judgment on something I know nothing about.
I think we'd all benefit from that attitude. I know we're jaded, but that doesn't mean everything is automatically bad.
i wish obsidian was making it
but ill take whatever fallout there is

i don't get this attitude that people with concerns over games are just being overly dramatic / pessimistic? sure the people whining about graphics are a bit ridiculous, but i've actually got legitimate concerns. FO3 had some very notable issues, and the mediocrity of skyrim left me with a sour taste in my mouth. i'm definitely not going to get myself hyped over the next product from their developers.

Well not really about how it looked.
Moreso how it just feels like, with the certain rumors about no galactic conquest, some vehicles are NPCs, and no Space combat, you just get this gut feeling that EA is blatantly about to gouge the game out for DLC.

That's for the best. Don't get hyped. Hype is a bad, polarizing thing. It's why we're having these arguments in the first place.
Cautious optimism. Assume that it'll probably be decent, but don't set your hopes too high. If it's better, be pleasantly surprised. If it's worse, then consider it expected. I think automatically dismissing the game because it's Fallout is the same as saying it's going to be brilliant and wonderful because it's Fallout; both are terrible presumptions.

Then don't get hyped over it?

Maybe. And that's okay, it's their game. It'll probably be like Battlefield, and I don't really mind that.
And, at the end of the day, I can still go back and play the old ones. Would I be disappointed if EA killed the series? Sure, but it's been dead for the past ten years already. I can deal with it dying again.
Then don't get hyped over it?
i'm not, but with many recent posts in the FO4 threads recently it seems like people believe not being hyped / having concerns = being a nitpicky asshole.

Well that's nice for you my friend.
But personally I had a blast with FO3 and Skyrim, moreso with mods.
I think the personal gameplay experience is more important than what someone on a forum thinks about a game. Even if people say one game is the worst ever, maybe I could find some fun in it and call it decent.
I was very happy to see this beautiful looking Fallout game in comparison to Fallout 3. I want to see how it plays, I want to see all the redesigns of enemies and NPCs, I wanna see the gunplay, I wanna see so much this E3. Especially a possible release date.
i'm not, but with many recent posts in the FO4 threads recently it seems like people believe not being hyped / having concerns = being a nitpicky asshole.
Perhaps that's true. But, at the same time, we have seen unending torrents of "OH MY GOD IT'S GOING TO BE HORRIBLE GARBAGE SHIT WHY DO YOU EVEN BOTHER BETHESDA YOU SHOULD ALL FUCKING DIE" all day. I'd prefer we be more civil about things, and I'm sure you share the sentiment. If there are any realistic concerns, then they can be discussed without writing the whole game off as a failure before we've even seen more than three minutes of it.
If I've learned one thing today, it's that the Internet is not good at channeling excitement into productive communication.
Honestly one of the main worries I have is about Fallout 4 not being x64. That's one of biggest problems with Bethesda games, go over 4 gb of ram and it loses its shit.

To be fair it feels like the internet in general isn't really giving games or the industry the chance to shine through these days.
Like with games that look or feel bad sure, but nowadays it feels like all games are free game to be picked at for just about anything.
Beisdes I'd rather be optimistic and reassuring about AAA gaming than just put it in a dead zone because of a shitty trend :v:.

I'd rather it go for both 32 and 64bit?
Since my computer is a 32bit and FO4 being 64bit only means I could never play it.

There's a fine difference between having a valid argument/concern over the game and saying something looks like shit because "muh standards".
I mean people are already comparing this game to Witcher 3, like what the hell.

So what?
I'm pretty sure the problem is that everyone keeps posting the same thing ad nauseum; everyone can see the graphics, one post is enough. This is an official moratorium.

what about concerns for the writing after FO3, or dungeon design and RPG mechanics being simplified after Skyrim?
sure, there hasn't been gameplay seen yet, but i feel these kind of concerns should be brought up amongst all the post-trailer launch hype.
Until we actually know more about the game, those are mostly conversations about Skyrim and FO3 rather than FO4, innit...
You guys are literally judging it like its a finished product, when we've only seen 1 trailer and a few screenshots. Is there no pleasing gamers anymore?
Speculation and assumptions only natural from 1 trailer
we have nothing else to go on so we go on only what we know

Sorry I meant my worry being that it doesn't have a 64 bit option. I don't mind if its both. I just don't want 32 only.

Sums it up for me.
I would actually rather have FO4's graphics based on this pic, it looks a lot more playable. I just see eyerape visual clutter and super high contrast in the TW3 pic. It's actually hard to look at.
not expecting it to look super pretty
but expecting it to be super fun
didn't think i would see fallout 4 for a long time. i'm pretty excited though. now, i would REALLY like to see S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2

That was one of the things I loved about Bioshock Infinite. It had a beautiful palette and really clean textures and models. It looked really good, without looking too sharp.
Same with Windwaker, that soft, painting-like style of animation is always fantastic.
After the recent shit in the industry? I'm as displeased as ever with everything AAA game-related.
Okay. Just don't do it here. We're tired of it, collectively.
Collectively eh? So the hivemind theory is true..
Joking of course.
I doubt bethesda will do any of the shoddy AAA practices that plague most publishers, as long as they don't screw the pooch with paid mods, all we have to worry about is the actual product.
Nah, I just like speaking for people, and defusing arguments. I think I've done a pretty good job of it, too. I talk a mean game of diplomacy.
No? You disagree? That's fine. Kinda sad now, though.

It's resized. There are a lot of sharp edges and giant contrasts that would not occur at its native resolution.
Very colorful. I've been meaning to get into this series; a friend gifted me New Vegas but I've yet to crack it open. Good starting point?
You know, some people are saying that the new Color palate is bad for Fallout because it gets rid of that whole dark and gritty feel of Fallout, but I happen to disagree. Games like Borderlands and Bioshock (incidentally the two game most people compared the new look too) have this bright and happy look to them despite having this really really dark world of dystopias and pyschopaths, and they work wonderfully. I love it...

Absolutely. I don't think there's a bad starting point, all the Fallout games are pretty good.
