Yeah Witcher 3 has a full modding kit and unlike Creation kit it actually works most of the time you use it.
And the Creation Engine (okay it's Gamebyro) is just not too much fun to play on.
And Bethesda is writing it, so everything points at it really not having good writing.

A game shouldn't look like its 2011 equivalent in 2015.
It doesn't need to be Witcher 3 but it needs to at least be improved.

Well yeah, but why expect that to change? They made bank with Skyrim, everyone is already preordering happily and they clearly have made no effort to update their engine or their graphics so we already know they probably don't care all that much.
Their engine is exceptionally buggy, makes everything look and feel off and the RPG aspects just aren't good enough to compensate.

Because it shows a lack of effort and that they're using the same terrible engine as always.
Man you REALLY don't like Bethesda huh
[editline]4th June 2015[/editline]
Did Todd Howard disrespect you personally or something? Jesus Christ
You guys are literally judging it like its a finished product, when we've only seen 1 trailer and a few screenshots. Is there no pleasing gamers anymore?
Yeah but can't we speculate based on past performance of Bethedsa?
It's resized. There are a lot of sharp edges and giant contrasts that would not occur at its native resolution.
I know. I feel exactly the same about the original.

Take a quick look at it, did you see [sp]the guy in the background next to the player's left side[/sp]?
If this is anything like any pre-release trailers/gameplay then the actual release will be ramped down and look even worse than what we see right now.
Yeah but can't we speculate based on past performance of Bethedsa?
If we're to speculate based on past Bethesda games then it will be smashing success with a vocal minority of PC players who have convinced themselves the game is utter shit but play it anyway. :v:

Well, yeah, obviously. We're all going to play it and have a grand old time, except for the people who are going to put 500+ hours into it and complain that it was terrible.
People are strange.

"smashing success" =/= good
Honestly, I'm sure some of us will have our gripes and such with the final product and such.
But RIGHT NOW.
After 7 years.
After a fake teaser site that fooled all of us.
After all the Rumors.
Right now I just want to be excited that Fallout 4 was actually announced with such a bombastic force of, well, a Nuclear Weapon :v:.
[editline]4th June 2015[/editline]
Well not only that it got announced, but that it looks so fucking good compared to Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
Absolutely. I don't think there's a bad starting point, all the Fallout games are pretty good.
I've heard some say that 3 is hard to play after you've already gone through NV, though, because of certain gameplay improvements.
I know that, if the game is at least decent, I will hold off on buying it until a good amount of mods come out so I can experience a bethedsa game first playthrough the way it's meant to be played: changing all the mistakes the gameplay developers made so that it's at least bearable.
I've heard some say that 3 is hard to play after you've already gone through NV, though, because of certain gameplay improvements.
Going from New Vegas to 3 will be a little jarring because of the lack of ironsight aiming in 3, but other than that it's not that big of a leap. You will also probably miss weapons mods.
"smashing success" =/= good
No but it does mean that the general opinion on the game is that it's good
doesn't mean everyone is gonna like it but you can get a good gauge on what most people are gonna be okay with via how successful the game was
[editline]4th June 2015[/editline]
Like most people I've talked to in real life tend to prefer Fallout 3 over New Vegas, and that pretty much lines up with how it was reviewed. New Vegas overall scored less in reviews and most people I talk to in real life didn't enjoy it as much.
Success doesn't mean it's objectively good but it usually means most people are gonna think it's a good game
I mean Skyrim didn't sell as much as it did for absolutely no reason, a lot of people really liked it so there has to be something of value there don't you think? It might not be the kinda game you or other people enjoy but there was something in there that was good for a lot of people
So is it a prequel to Fallout 3 ? Is there a bit before the war?
If this is anything like any pre-release trailers/gameplay then the actual release will be ramped down and look even worse than what we see right now.
Yeah man they're probably going to remove all of those in-game environments they just showed us and remake them from scratch, only worse, for no reason.
8 years later and bethesda games still look dated compared to crysis. Horrible graphics.
I do hope they expand on the weapons customization more in fallout 4. As well with clothing/gear customization, that would be pretty neat-o.

Yeah armor customization would be a really cool touch. Some people have speculated that it might actually be in the game because of that final scene with the torn-apart/under-work power armor suit hanging in the garage. Being able to apply modules to armor would be awesome, like making regular power armor into tesla armor or something.
So is it a prequel to Fallout 3 ? Is there a bit before the war?
looks like it will flash between pre war and the current time in game
8 years later and bethesda games still look dated compared to crysis. Horrible graphics.
Yeah because Crysis has been the industry standard for a long time and it was super well optimised
8 years later and bethesda games still look dated compared to crysis. Horrible graphics.
Hey at least 8 years later they announced a long awaited game.
Unlike a certain other company.
Hard to tell this early but I'm being skeptical of any hype. You can see the gamebryo jank in the gameplay sequences. They didn't even try to hide it.
Just realized they're running a greatly upgraded dishonored engine. This might be interesting, but I feel like it may be a lot smaller than fo3 or skyrim
Just realized they're running a greatly upgraded dishonored engine. This might be interesting, but I feel like it may be a lot smaller than fo3 or skyrim
It may be smaller than Skyrim but I honestly doubt they'll go smaller than Fallout 3, or at least not by a significant margin.
Just realized they're running a greatly upgraded dishonored engine. This might be interesting, but I feel like it may be a lot smaller than fo3 or skyrim
what makes you think it is the dishonoured engine?
I really hope this has native VR support
this game would be an insane game to play like that
thankfully mods would fix it if it didn't
Was Fallout 3 a smaller space than Skyrim? I feel in Skyrim, you started out in the southern part of the map, but if you climbed the nearest mountain, you could see the north sea and then it wouldn't be too far to reach if just went straight for it.
Anyways, I think their should be more empty space between locations in Fallout 4. New Vegas was kind of lame in the sense that their was a randomly useless location every five feet. I want lots to explore, but feel like I actually made a trip to reach someplace.

Don't see double posts like that very often
Don't see double posts like that very often
that was really weird
I almost never see auto-merge breaks like that
Just realized they're running a greatly upgraded dishonored engine. This might be interesting, but I feel like it may be a lot smaller than fo3 or skyrim
I doubt it's Unreal Engine.
Also, top left by the sign, I think that's a floating decal (Well, actually a quad, since gambryo) :v:
