There's no gerrymandering in statewide elections. They just have a fuck ton of republicans.

Man I hope so it'd be nice for alabama to be known for something aside from obesity and birmingham's crime rate.
Gerrymandering doesn't apply in Senate elections
I'm stupid, ignore me
And Jones has taken the lead.
Can't believe a pedo can be this hard to beat.
What the hell is happening in Moore's live stream, this can't be real
JONESY HAS OVERTAKEN ROY HAHA
The thing is that Jones still has votes to count in, Moore is just about out.
JONES TAKES THE LEAD
If Jones wins. How disastrous would this be for the GOP? Because we seem to be setting a lot of weight on this election.
Significant due to the fact that a senate seat turning blue is further competition in regards to the tax plans and other weird things that the GOP wants to put through.
More so important because it shows that a Democrat can defeat a Republican in Alabama. That would seriously poke a hole in the Republican ego, as it would be incredibly embarrassing that they threw so much support for Moore and would then lose.
If Moore wins, it says that the Republicans can run just about anybody they want and still win, while also securing the status quo in terms of party ratio in the senate. It may cause the Republicans to lose face, or might possibly secure them more votes. Time would tell.
This is of long-run importance.
If Jones wins he won't be able to vote against the tax plan thanks to McConnell:

Really hoping for Mr. Jones to pull through.
Edit: Jones has the lead now!

I'm the immediate term, they'd lose a seat in the Senate. This means the tax bill might die - Sen. Susan Collins, who killed the healthcare bill, is currently unsure whether she will support the tax bill in its final vote. If Jones wins and Collins doesn't back the tax bill, it's dead. (Edit: perhaps not, with the Luther Strange thing posted above)
Obamacare repeal would also be completely off the table, no chance of trying that again.
In the longer term, it would mean that the Dems would need to flip one less seat in 2018 in order to take control of the Senate
Man, Birmingham really is an island (well, peninsula) of Blue in a sea of Red isn't it?
Chance of winning meter broken
C'MON DOUGIE
WE CAN POP THESE BOTTLES TONIGHT
He's almost guaranteed to win.
I think he's got it.
Holy shit!
Is this what it felt like to be a trump supporter in 2016?
Jones 95% chance of winning haha
Where is the Jones livestream?
wtf i love alabama now
For some reason I thought Alabama and their apparently shady levels of voter suppression would keep Jones out. But it looks like Alabama might actually have a democratic senator, which is just fucking awesome to think about
After the 2016 election I still don't even feel comfortable calling it
Moore is now in a 500 vote lead...
it's funny how accurate the thread poll is looking
If Jones wins, will moore call for a recount?
