Thank the gods that piece of rapist trash lost the election.
But remember: stay cautious. The Republicans could still pull something out of their sleeves.
Two child rapists?!
also the result of the election is the same as the poll for this thread (if you take away the write ins)
How long until we have someone accused of raping and eating a child considered for election [editline]13th December 2017[/editline] a completely sane and rational man VS a man currently on a killing spree in the name of Jesus, who will win
Two child rapists?!
I'd laugh if this wasn't something I could see the Republicans actually do.
Two child rapists?!
The greatest threat of all.
also the result of the election is the same as the poll for this thread (if you take away the write ins)
yea I had to check that too lol. at the time it was called it totally matched to this poll, but the actual final numbers (671,151 and 650,436) have a bit of a wider difference (50.78% and 49.21%) if only i could still edit polls.......
Apologies if this has already been posted but this is too funny.

Per Wapo, the Alabama GOP has announced it won’t support any push for a recount
Aw, poor snowflakes
Is there a subreddit or something for salty thin-skinned alt-right fuckwipes?
Given the reactions I don't think I've read up on this sufficiently... what does Doug winning mean in practice? Was this just a minor victory in the name of decency or democracy or does this significantly impact republican ability to get stuff done?

When Doug is sworn in, it'll be 51-49. Even less room for dissent if the Republicans wanna pass anything. There's also the fact that Alabama hasn't voted Democrat since 1976 so a Democrat winning there is quite a feat.
Holy fuck, the relief in this thread is so thick you can eat it with a spoon. Use this as a catalyst for a full on assault against the GOP. Get those rotten fuckers out. Don't become like us.
Huh, I guess Moore did come in a little behind.

It's catharsis, not a job.

EDIT: Also, how permanent is this? Won't other seats be up for grabs soon?
Does that typically happen though? One Republican not voting with the party and no Democrats doing the same?
There's been quite a few votes that ended up 50-50 with Pence being the tie breaker. In the current climate that 1 vote means a lot.

Had that vote happened after Doug Jones was sworn in, it would have been tied 50-50 with Pence as tie breaker. One more defection and the bill would die [editline]13th December 2017[/editline] And remember when John McCain dramatically killed the healthcare bill earlier this year? With Doug Jones in the Senate, the bill would have been dead before McCain made up his mind, no need to worry about his vote
man i know it's not likely but how fucking hilarious would it be if Republicans not only lost in Alabama, but lost it while cheating
turns it out that it's VERY hilarious

I fucking hope that this election has killed this whole perception that Bannon is some genius at elections. He lost in the previous 2017 elections, he's lost here and God knows hell lose 2018
so something interesting is that while Jones got about 92% of Clinton's total votes, by my calculations Moore only got a bit under 50% of Trump's. even in Alabama it seems Trump voters might not be as dumb as they look

He lost in the previous 2017 elections, he's lost here and God knows hell lose 2018
His problem is that to be a contrarian he has to back the worst candidate possible because the establishment won't, then when things go south for him he can't change course because thats what quitters do, nor can he change the candidate because thats what liberals do. As it would seem the rigid ideology of breitbart and co makes for very terrible campaigning. I hope he tries his hand again in Texas, because god knows, a blue senator in texas would cause that state to implode into a puff of illogic
There needs to be a major mobilization against the tax bill now, the GOP will be rushing to pass it before Jones is sworn in. If it can be killed then the GOP's legislative agenda is probably dead - it's unlikely they'll be able to pass anything major before the midterms with 51 seats, given they've already failed multiple times with 52
so something interesting is that while Jones got about 92% of Clinton's total votes, by my calculations Moore only got a bit under 50% of Trump's. even in Alabama it seems Trump voters might not be as dumb as they look
Largely explained by turnout AFAIK, it seems lots of GOP voters just went fuck it and stayed home rather than have to vote for a child molester/a Democrat
