Yes, In Alabama you're allowed to vote once your rights are restored after a crime. Jones Campaign, Vote or Die and NAACP pounced on it and a lot of former felons are voting, rightly so. ALSO, apparently Black turnout is around 30% of the electorate today, I will try and link you guys something soon, but if it's true then that bodes VERY well for him
I mean the mugshot part, not the crime part. Just surprised if a mugshot is a good stand-n for a license or other photo ID. I suppose it is a state document....
https://thinkprogress.org/alabamians-cry-voter-suppression-50ddc1b53b3a/ It seems there has been purposeful edits to the voter rolls to remove people and make them inactive so their vote won't count today. Either through hacks or the GOP being sneaky. Either way, a lot of blacks can't vote and that is to Moore's advantage.

I looked further into it and the man went to his local police station and received a state documented mugshot for the polls.
Surely that cannot be legal.
I don't think your government even knows what that word is anymore.
Yeah, anyone who could investigate this does not gain from investigating it. Trump's been in office a year and checks and balances have been put entirely to death.
I don't think your government even knows what that word is anymore.
I'm not American, so. :v: But yes, I guess I should realise that the GOP does not care about what is and isn't legal - so long as they maintain power, all is good.
Fuck GOP voter suppression tactics, fuck the GOP, and fuck these attempts at circumventing people's rights to vote against a child molester aiming for office. I am disgusted and ashamed of this "nation".
I'm not American, so. :v: .
Ah, sorry about that, mate. I forget that other non Americans might be watching this thread
Yeah, anyone who could investigate this does not gain from investigating it. Trump's been in office a year and checks and balances have been put entirely to death.
Sadly this is due to the Supreme Court ending the voting rights act during the Obama years. 2016 was the first big election since then and it saw a huge drop in Black turnout due to the south being allowed to do voter suppresion again.
Ah, sorry about that, mate. I forget that other non Americans might be watching this thread
No worries. Regardless, I am worried about this as well, if only because it's so strange and horrifying to see just how low America can sink. I know it's quite a severe generalisation, but the US is infected by some really scummy human beings, and it seeps through almost all of society.
If black turnout is really at 30%, then that's incredibly good for Jones. I believe yesterday's 538 podcast projected that Jones would need at least 25% black turnout to potentially win, and obviously the higher a percentage of the overall turn out it is, the less white voters Jones needs to win. Though one should take exit polls with more than a little grain of salt. Exit polls last year projected a healthy Clinton victory too.
“Wizard Jail” oh holy fuck
Someone explain this, I googled and got nothing [editline]12th December 2017[/editline]
If black turnout is really at 30%, then that's incredibly good for Jones. Exit polls don't take into account the electoral college obviously.
Someone explain this, I googled and got nothing
I think it has something to do with running the KKK out by imprisoning a lot of their higher profile leaders, aka, "Grand Wizard" etc.
man i know it's not likely but how fucking hilarious would it be if Republicans not only lost in Alabama, but lost it while cheating

He doesn't have a clue how this country works, just like his candidate.
Twitter isn't working for me right now, can anyone tell me what's happening in that link?
Twitter isn't working for me right now, can anyone tell me what's happening in that link?
moore spokesperson doesnt know that you can swear on different books of faith other than the christian bible when getting sworn in to official positions, stares at camera slackjawed and speechless for a solid 8 seconds
He is confronted by reality for a few seconds before rejecting it and going back to saying that Trump swore on a bible so that means he is correct.
What is with people forgetting that other religions exist.
Good luck Alabama, may the vote decide which candidate you want to be represented by. [editline]Ehm[/editline] (Unless you run for Potus then the vote of up to 2.8 million people may mean jack shit because they didn't live in the right states) (Or the GOP might try to suppress your vote with biased Voter ID laws, inactive ballots and other barriers mostly targeting liberal voting demographics)
Let's see if my state can salvage just a sliver of their reputation. Doug "Wizard Jail" Jones vs Roy "Moore Teens Who Are Fourteen" Moore
I'm sure there's a list of these somewhere. The fake middle name meme is always hilarious
Good luck Alabama, may the vote decide which candidate you want to be represented by.
more like "may you be able to vote at all"
Twitter isn't working for me right now, can anyone tell me what's happening in that link?
Newscaster on the left informs Mr. Sockpuppet on the right that you don't legally have to swear on a Christian bible, "you can swear on anything really, you can swear on a Jewish bible" Guy on the right opens his fat maw: "Oh no, I swore on the bible. I've done it three tiiiimes." "I'm sure you have, I'm sure you picked a bible. But the law is not that you have to swear on a Christian Bible. That is not the law." cue 8 straight seconds of silence from the spokesperson "You don't know that?" The newscaster tried to segway out of the interview but gets cut off to an irrelevant rebuttal, then fully segways out of the interview.

I really hope that the allegations of vote suppression are merely allegations. Very few things infuriate me more than attempts at subverting democratic processes. It's especially weird because here in Australia, where although we do have compulsory voting, people are encouraged to come along and participate anyways through means such as voting always being on Saturdays, early voting being open weeks in advance, and sausage sizzles (a snag on a bun with a can of coke) happening at many polling places on the official election day. Meanwhile in the US, it seems that efforts are made to discourage people from voting?
