What I don't understand is how can you go to the future if it hasn't yet been created?
What I don't understand is how can you go to the future if it hasn't yet been created?
Going to the future is just going through time really fast. [editline]17th March 2011[/editline]
If they did that and the other universe reacted to save everyones lives and everything changed. How would it work again? T he universe would have become something else entirely different because of that and any disasters we experience may not be the same for them, or possibly, the message may not even get to the same universe. What if the universe was completely random.
Your theory would apply to heavily influenced chaotic systems like the weather, but I reckon it'd be less likely to influence almost guaranteed events.
I don't think time travel is possible.
Once I take over Switzerland I will have access to this advanced technology.
Not this shit again, Time travel won't effect us because of the multiverse.

One step closer to Beta Suit http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_oRj4b_cdTLY/TSSi_iK78yI/AAAAAAAACTQ/zsq6Yz7fZqA/s1600/2892.jpg
Learn about the multiple universe theories.
The multiple universe theory is the only one that actually makes sense, in my honest opinion.
The multiple universe theory is the only one that actually makes sense, in my honest opinion.
what is your dishonest opinion
Nah, LSD is the first time machine.
I also hope this means I can go to a place where its all like how i like it. I mean, there are infinite numbers of alternate demensions so there must be one were everything is awesome.
No it can't
if time travel ever happened we'd already have seen signs of it (like time traveller dudes walking around 1900 or some shit) so i doubt it
Already caught one
I didn't read that sciencey shit. Just bring me to the day of the Robot War of Korea so I can fight Mecha Kim Jong-il!
Already caught one [img_thumb]http://www.boingboing.net/201004161615.jpg[/img_thumb]
Is that even real? Kinda looks fake.
This is sort of scary, time isn't meant to be fucked with.
This thread brings back memories of The Journeyman Project.
Quite honestly, I don't think it's a good idea at all, let alone possible. Time-travel can seriously fuck things up.
Ah fuck my brain hurts just thinking about this. What if they see the particle and then they don't do the experiment and then... GAH PARADOX :psyboom:
This thread brings back memories of The Journeyman Project.
Oh my god I had 2 and 3 and they were fucking amazing
You can't avoid paradox because one tiny thing you do will have a knock-on effect. DON'T FUCK WITH TIME
Sending messages to the past is still a violation of causality so I don't see how this avoids paradoxes at all.
That was the first thing I thought reading the article. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
How do you attach a message to a particle?
In principle similar to how we do it already with light: Amplitude or Frequency modulation for analogue signals or purely digital by chopping the signal.
So take me away I don't mind But you better promise me I'll be BACK IN TIME
Great Scott
Isn't this that one machine that can cause a few different scenarios that can kill all of us?
I can see the Fox News headline now. "Large Hardon Collides and causes time travel: Is science corrupting our kids with thinly veiled sexual innuendo?" Also, I'll be the first person to admit that I don't have a damn clue what any of that means anyway.
