But, that is just your belief, as a libertarian, you want as little government control as possible. You don't trust the government. Us trying to tell you you're wrong is like telling a christian fundamentalist that his/her beliefs are wrong, so there is just no reason to keep arguing.
Oh but Greenspan is a trustworthy fellow who has everyone in mind.

Do you seriously want to get into this shit again?
If I recall you still neglected to explain your point previously.
What the fuck are you talking about?
IIRC you're a libertarian

And you telling everyone that the only way to live is with the government watching you non stop is a good idea.
IIRC you're a libertarian
I don't see what that has to do with a discussion on the reality of the Constitution.
[editline]06:44PM[/editline]
You cannot simply shrug the point off by comparing libertarians to religious zealots.
I mean that's just fucking dumb to boot. Libertarians are objectivists, dominated by atheists.

Well apparently, according to him, the Constitution has something in it about the government owning our lives or something.

It's the denial mode, only in different wording.
I voted for Obama.
Because either way you are voting for a giant douche or a turd sandwich.
Or you just don't vote until there is someone that has your views.

I was just stating that your beliefs are your beliefs, telling someone that their beliefs are wrong is like telling someone that their religion is wrong. Plus, I'm not even in the discussion of the Constitution, I'm just stating that when people go head to head like you guys are now, shit hits the fan.

No, if someone believes false facts, then they are wrong.

What the fuck do you mean you're not discussing the Constitution?
What the fuck are you discussing then? The Constitution is what the rest of us were talking about, and the conflicts that arise with such a dumb proposition as switching to a parliamentary system for no good goddamned reason.
Don't toss this Disney bullshit "There is no wrong opinion" crap at me. There is such a thing as wrong beliefs and wrong opinions. It can be your opinion that your shit smells like cherries and roses, but I can say within a reasonable degree of certainty that your opinion is fucking wrong.
You can't hide behind beliefs when somebody challenges their basis. Beliefs can be and are wrong all of the fucking time, that's sort of the point of debate. Facts and intellect decide what beliefs are wrong and what 'beliefs' are indeed factual.
[editline]06:53PM[/editline]
The fact of the matter is that if beliefs don't get acknowledged. If there is so little factual or logical basis for your argument that you actually call it a belief, it isn't worth listening to. There's a big difference between belief and knowledge.

Lolbertarianism is one of them.
Lolbertarianism is one of them.
Freedoms bad?
Lolbertarianism is one of them.
Go ahead and present your factual and rational basis.
Methinks Lankist needs to calm down a bit, and Olinaj needs to stop being passive aggressive.
I don't totally feel like reading through 8 pages of arguing, I just think this bill is not that big a deal. it's not like Obama will shut down the internet every Wednesday just to rob you of your rights and laugh at you. ITT people need to whine less, and think to themselves "is this ever going to affect me in even the slightest of ways?"
Freedoms bad?
Libertarianism is the only chance for freedom?
[editline]11:56PM[/editline]
Go ahead and present your factual and rational basis.
no
no
Then you may leave.
Libertarianism is the only chance for freedom?

no
Communism is for freedom? Isn't that a contradiction?
Then you may leave.
nah, I'm good.
[editline]11:57PM[/editline]
Communism is for freedom? Isn't that a contradiction?
why do you say that?

That isn't the point. It's against the laws, constitution, etc. It's wrong. It IS a big deal. It IS something to get angry about, if it could happen.
Communism is for freedom? Isn't that a contradiction?
Forgive me since I have not read the communism manefesto.. but I think communism is supposed to be a transitional phase to anarchism. Unfortunately, as with many political systems, greedy people fuck things up.

Oh good LORD! If the US is ever invaded, or there is ever a massive terrorist attack, some people might lose their constitutional RIGHT to the INTERNET!

noooooooooooooooooooooooo, etc. I mean, if there's ever a state of emergency, your internet connection will be your first worry, right?
nah, I'm good.
So then you're trolling.
nah, I'm good.
[editline]11:57PM[/editline]

Lots of reasons.

Exactly. I don't care what communism is supposed to be, I care what it becomes. Which is corrupt, and closer to fascism than communism

It was kinda just a passive way of getting into the discussion without getting my ass handed to me by someone who has a college degree in the legal field.
Also, just have some faith in humanity, just because the executive branch has some kind of outline for a health care bill doesn't mean they are going to totally fuck the American people in their asses. I mean, it doesn't dull the lines between the branches in any way.

First you tell me I hold too much faith in my ideals.
NOW you tell me I don't have ENOUGH faith in the contrary ideals.
Also you're in the wrong thread, buddy.
Lolbertarianism is one of them.
why are you using the term that conscript and i made up
that's an inside joke, you can't use that shit
lolunism
Lots of reasons.
Trotsky is a fake communist anyway, just ask Chippay.
On one hand he goes on and on about how the rest of the world doesn't have enough compassion and on the other he vehemently defends the works of an old, racist, anti-communist.
I heard about this. I am getting fucking pissed with Obama as it is, and now he is trying to make an excuse to limit the informational flow of the internet. I don't want to become like china with their great firewall. The internet is an entity all its own. Also it isn't like the feds don't already monitor websites like these and take appropriate actions.
trotsky is a lolmunist

The Manifesto isn't the absolute. it's had several revisions and prefaces that correct ideas. As well as it's not a compilation of what communism is. You would need to read more of Marx's work to understand it.
And No, it's not.
