Wow, Sony's not really having a good year. I hope they actually fix the problem over just trying to ban people from PSN though.
Can someone sum all this up so I understand what's going on? I own a PS3 and reading this is overwhelming.

Your credit card got handed to a merchant and instead of them swiping it through the till they started reading the numbers out loudly into the phone

Never used my credit card, only used the PS store game card things.

Everything else was in plain text too though, including your username and password. Likely isn't a problem if you didn't install custom firmware though, since the official firmware isn't going to be phoning home to anyone except Sony.
