• Weed goes mainstream in California

I've never smoked pot before but if it becomes legal, I would try it. I'm not sure I would stick with it, because it is a money sink.
I don't wish to sound like a smartass, but I'm putting out a small bet right now... ITT: Weed is Legalized. This is what I find ironic about people who do weed for 'social' events. A good majority of them give a simple minded answer usually under, "Rebel" "Fuck Da Police" well what happens when it's legalized? I'm directly going to point my finger at the 'social' breed. After weed is legalized sure... For about a week to three months people will be smoking, and be celebrating. You know what will most likely happen though? They'll drop it. Why? No thrill, no attention, just a small amount of cash burning from the wallet. Only those who actually use it for, "Feeling Good" , "Pain Relief" , and "Cooking" would keep it going. I don't mean to sound like a dick by saying this, but... Weed will most likely die once it's legal.

Considering there are a lot of people who smoke it the same way people drink, simply for fun and recreationally. I know I do, and I know that when it's legal, it will simply be easier for me to do so. It's a popular recreational drug due to it's low health costs and ease of growth, not it's legality status. Hell, between California and most of Canada? I think the weed trade will stay alive and well for a long time.
I hope Canada gets some motivation from this, we've been close to decriminalization a few times but it never caught on.
No it won't. When we legalized Alcohol again after prohibition, did it die down?
It leveled out yeah, but it didn't disappear.
Holy shit America! You are doing something good! I still think that smoking weed is fucking retarded, but hey legalize was still the right way. Might actually be better then alcohol.
The people who support illegalization of Marijuana do not support personal freedoms, less taxes being used on people in jail, and not punishing people who commit victemless crimes

"Hur Dur Weed dis legal awsome I cant wait derp" You guys DO realize that smoking weed as a child/teen still can cause various promblems with the maturing adolescent brain, right (Just like booze and cigs) And you DO realize that there will no-doubt be an age limit, right?

Holy christ, think before you post.
Nope.avi
Not sure if troll I hope so though
Im not.
:ohdear:
So because my opinion is different i'm a troll? Grow up.
Well actually, I'm sorry. I guess I overreacted as your original post doesn't really say anything all that negative...at least it doesn't seem like it [editline]07:01PM[/editline] Though I'd like to remind you that people don't want to legalized solely so that they can smoke it, they want it legalized for freedom, and a new industry. And yeah, they know that kids won't be able to smoke it, they never expected any different, but that's not why they want it.
So because my opinion is different i'm a troll? Grow up.
Just about everyone here that's for it's legalization wants it regulated with an age limit, and everything else that comes along with being government regulated. You walked in here and acted like no one did. Either that's trolling, or you're not paying attention at all and just spouting your opinion off.
ugh I wish it wouldn't be passed. Gives more people an excuse to get high. It's no fun hanging around stoned people if your not high.
ugh I wish it wouldn't be passed. Gives more people an excuse to get high. It's no fun hanging around stoned people if your not high.
So much bullshit I'm not even going to start.
ugh I wish it wouldn't be passed. Gives more people an excuse to get high. It's no fun hanging around stoned people if your not high.
That is the worst reason for keeping something illegal...ever
I'm about 6 hours away from California. Hopefully everything goes good
So much bullshit I'm not even going to start.
no, please do. Just saying, I don't enjoy getting high. If it was legalized where I lived, my friends that already get high would only do it more. It might encourage some of my other friends to join in, too. I just haven't had great experiences with friends that get high, it's often caused us to drift apart.

Hey, guess who decriminalized all drugs? Portugual, guess who has some of the lowest drug use statistics? Portugual. I haven't had great experiences with friends who care that I smoke pot. I treat them the same as i do when I'm sober, and I rarely talk about pot, as a sole subject of a conversation at least, but it seems to be an issue for people who need to control their friends lives.

I don't preach on my friends that smoke pot... I don't understand why people always get obnoxious when I state my opinion about weed. I don't try to control my friends lives, I just stay clear when they get high. Maybe my friends set a bad standard that I became used to - a bunch of them invested a lot of time into it, that's all. Some of my friends I know completely fucked their lives up for the time being, because they dropped out of highschool, and a lot of that came from how they would skip to get high. I simply stated that I wish it wasn't legal, that's all. Your right when you say it's freedom of your body. But I can list off some of my friends that would use it more if it was legalized, including my best friend..statistics aside. They wouldn't have to sneak around anymore if they had the freedom to do so. Just a perspective that some might want to consider. I really don't care because I live in Canada, it doesn't affect me.
I'm interested to see what happens as a result of this. I've been tempted to at least TRY pot a time or two, but company drug tests have prevented me from doing so for fear of losing whatever work I can find. (I hear it helps people who have trouble focusing)
No it does not. Having in-depth conversations can get very confusing.
I hope you guys realize even if it was legal in all 50 states, any federal agent can arrest you for smoking it.
I hope you guys realize even if it was legal in all 50 states, any federal agent can arrest you for smoking it.
Already said this. They need to make it legal across the board, including under federal law. Alcohol is legal and when was the last time anyone suggested alcohol as a medicine?

Also, your friends were idiots with, or without pot. That's why they're idiots after. There will be a legal age limit on it, so you and your friends couldn't smoke it. Alcohol is legal and when was the last time anyone suggested alcohol as a medicine?
Alcohol has no medicinal benefits. Marijuana however does, it is a powerful painkiller, anti-nausea, powerful headache fighter, and a very good thing at all this because it causes no damage to the body. Even smoking it isn't proven to do any damage that isn't fixed by a night of not smoking. Alcohol can kill you, you can't physically smoke enough pot to die from it.
