man, there are some massive shit posters in this thread
It isn't a loophole. He's still a man biologically and legally, no matter what he imagines himself to be or how he dresses. If I said that I identify as a Dog, insert a tail buttplug in my butt and marry a woman, you could say that a Dog used a loophole to mary a human legally.
holy crap you just broke my ignorance-meter

pretty much one massive shit poster ruining this otherwise ironic news story
get real - no one will seriously care about your opinions related to stuff like this until you stop making insane comparisons.
get real - no one will ever listen to poinion in Russia-realted thread from pieople with tricolor like this.
Also, chair and dog examples were extreme, but don't say you didn't get the point. Instead, all of you just decided to label me as another "hurr durr rusia homofobic".
Screw this.

what are "people with tricolor"?
Bullshit again. Once you have conducted an operation, you can get a special certificate. You take it to the legal department and they change your passport accordingly. Once it's done, you legally belong to a gender (and sex, those two things are not legally differentiated in Russia) you wished to belong to.
But when you get married, they're still gonna check that passport.
So, in this current stage, you can be a transgender woman and marry a woman as long as you keep your passport male. And a transgender man can marry another man as long as the passport remains as female.
But once you change your passport/have yourself legally certified as the opposite sex, then you lose the possibility to marry the woman, or the man.. Also, my head hurts.
It's opposite.
I want to marry whoever I want, that shouldn't bother others.
Woman, man, transgender, dog, chair, AppleID - that's my business, not yours.
I'm sure your chair will visit you in the hospital and pay the medical bills when you injure yourself trying to fuck an armrest.

So why is a marriage between two men or women less legitimate than a marriage between a man and a woman?
The hornets nest is full of assholes.
assholes nest
sounds terrifying
[editline]16th November 2014[/editline]
or kinky if you're into that sort of thing
So why is a marriage between two men or women less legitimate than a marriage between a man and a woman?
Because people arn't used to it, thats all. It literally is the only reason there is any animosity towards homosexual couples, they attract ire because they are different. Sure you can load whatever plethora of religious and or flawed logical reasoning behind it, but it still boils down to familiarity.
I don't get why it's so important for gay people to get married. Can't they just live together without telling it to everyone and kicking the hornets nest?
So why is it important for straight couples to marry then?
what the fuck lmao

personally I identify as technicolor
2nd page and no one mentions Mr. Garrison.
You're slippin' Facepunch.
To be fair for all most people care it's still a woman and a extremely weirdo man getting married, so it's not like it's any kind of victory to be honest.
Like for them this isn't a lesbian couple, because there isn't such a thing as "born a man yet not a man".

Well, we can already see the next pair to be married.

Yeah. But the thing is, if you marry someone with your old passport, and then update the legal information, you only get a new name (if you so desire; they don't care if you want to keep your old name, but why would you want to be a woman named Vladimir or Igor?) and a sex. Everything else, including your social status, remains registered in documents. They can't revoke your marriage, it's literally just impossible, there's no basis for such actions. So that's legal same-sex marriage, which shouldn't be supported by the law, and yet it is, with all the benefits state owes you.
That's a very rare situation and probably won't happen again (because parliament now will work extra-hours to make up something that would prevent it), but it's good for the women in question, and it's also kinda amusing watching Petersburg's regional parliament twitching and having seizures.

guess which one
guess which one
Obviously the one in red trousers on the right, holding flowers.
In all seriousness, it's not that obvious from up close apparently. I've seen a report on TV, at first I couldn't really say with any degree of certainty.
If I said that I identify as a Dog, insert a tail buttplug in my butt and marry a woman, you could say that a Dog used a loophole to mary a human legally.
Well, you've certainly got the brains of a dog, so I wouldn't be that surprised

I think he meant to say that no one with Russian flagdog gets his opinion listened to in threads about Russia. Russian flag is often called "tricolor" in Russia, because, well, guess why.

I TRIED SO HARD
AND GOT SO FAR
BUT IN THE END
IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER
So your point is that gay marriage is a less extreme version of marriage to chairs.
The point is, marriage should be allowed between anyone or anything. No one should be able to prevent a marriage because they disagree with it.
Now, I'm not in agreement with that point. Because, we should ensure that the engaged to be married are in agreement with the marriage themselves.
But that was the point anyway. Pretty obvious.
Please help me I'm too tricolor to understand this.
I'm tricolor too. It's not a very distinguishing term. In fact, over 160 nations have tricolor flags.
I'm pentacolor, get creative other countries

Check this flag out.
It's the flag of Belize and it has ~12 colors, not including shades and it kicks ass.
