North Korea to 'launch missile TOMORROW' after warning foreigners to evacuate South

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
I wouldn't be surprised if they went through with it. People need to start taking this more seriously and realise that north korea is actually a threat to south korea, that they do have nuclear capability and they are escalating the situation much more aggressively and rapidly than before. I don't ever recall them severing their economic and other ties to this extent to the south.
Pfft, how many times are they gonna say this? When will I actually see this missile, North Korea? Not that I want to see it, I want to see you not hide behind your words so you can look like a tough guy.
I dont understand why they would tell people to evacuate...are they stupid or are they stupid?
We'll find out soon enough though if they're bullshitting or actually batshit insane.
They're going to fire one into the ocean but broadcast on state media that it completely annihilated the united states or something
I'm guessing one of these four scenarios will happen:
1. NK launches it into the ocean. Massive propaganda: we defeated Satan UN and America or 'check out the might of north korea!!!11'
2. NK launch fails. Propaganda broadcast anyway that it succeeds (see above)
3. Missile gets shot down. Evildoing capitalist scum broadcast
4. They don't do anything. Propaganda anyway
I just can't bring myself to believe that North Korea even has the resources or munitions to wage a war when the US and other developed countries that are on the other side of the spectrum are telling north korea to stop
the world will be much better with some radioactive snow in June
its really sick that you're glad this is going to happen
I'm not glad that people are going to die, I'm glad that the situation will finally be resolved. North Korea has been treating it's citizens (and others) like shit, with a number of human rights violations seen almost nowhere else on Earth. Maybe this will finally see these issues resolved - the fact that they haven't been already I think suggests a failure on the rest of the world's part. War is horrible, but in the case of North Korea, I think that the world will be a better place when it ceases to be a country, or at the very least is under new leadership.
Please don't mistake this for a "lol we should nuke them yeah fuck nk" post :v:

Nothing's going to happen, so the tyranny of the Kim family against North Korea will continue.
firing nerf darts doesn't count
I wonder if they're planning on Japan shooting it down, saying it's a test then calling them out as an act of war?
That or they'll do nothing, lose complete face.
I'm actually interested in what the propaganda would be and how the people would react to it.
Even if the missile completely failed (im hoping it does), imagine watching a people celebrate because they think their mortal enemy was slain, while BEING that mortal enemy (if your an American anyways.)
It would be like watching one of those weird sci-fi episodes where the protagonist crosses over to an alternate universe.

It's the aftermath of the first three that people are concerned about
Launching a missile at another country (even if it fails) is still an undeniable act of war. Global politics says that if you don't strike back you're essentially letting the wookie win. Which, when you're dealing with a highly militant and unpredictable government like NK is not a good thing
And As soon as the missile is launched, it will get instantly shot down
I was supposed to be in Seoul right about now teaching.
Even if I was, I wouldn't leave.

That actually makes me wonder whether the major powers would simply just carry on or actually officially declare war or something (in the case they actually fire the missile towards another country)
The way I see North Korea being slightly appeased (in terms of incidents and small conflicts) throughout the past leaves me a bit worried in the case they launch a missile and fail

A good friend of mine is in Seoul learning right now. I'm worried for him, nonetheless.
5...
4 and a half...
4...
3 and a half...
3.4....
And when it does finally get to 1, they drop the counter and it restarts.
I can't explain why, but this whole event with North Korea reminds me of some Ironic suicide attempt. Like a guy at his witts end holding a hostage or to the side of a building and everyone on the ground is telling him to jump/do it. But he doesn't because in reality he is unsure and wants to live.
Perhaps we should all write Kim Jong Un a letter :V

Jesus, everyone is in shock that North Korea has gone past their propaganda and grew some balls.

Happy birthday to me...
Oh boy here we go!
YOU HEAR THAT SOBOTNIK?

People will still find out, the black market for out of state media is huge there.
I'm bad at explaining shit so this will suffice its from http://www.reddit.com/r/NorthKoreaNews/comments/1byzut/north_korea_notifies_foreign_embassies_of_intent/c9bhj50
And as Kim already controls the mass media and could tell the population absolutely anything

Actually this isn't close to being true these days. True, his regime has total control over mass media within the DPRK, but ever since the the [1] Arduous March famine of the late 1990's things have changed significantly. Prior to then everybody relied solely on the regime for food and other supplies. During the famine everybody learned to stop relying on the regime because it wasn't feeding them. So those who survived figured out how to fend for themselves.
As a result of a lot of that, the black market has significantly increased throughout the DPRK, and because of that you're seeing a huge influx of cell phones, radios, tvs, DVD's, etc. so that people can talk to family & friends outside of the country, watch news & other tv shows from China or South Korea, etc. The underground market for American movies and South Korean soap operas is apparently so huge that the DPRK regime has reportedly been forced to [2] change the way they punish offenders because they can't afford to send so many people away to prison camps.
With the growing availability of news from the outside world, Kim Jong Un is in a very difficult position. He can do what his father & grandfather did and back down but claim victory to his own people, but this time around his own people will likely hear from outside sources what really happened. There are already reports that he survived one assassination attempt earlier this year or late last year. If the military and others see him as weak from what they're hearing outside of North Korea he could face more assassination/coup attempts in the not too distant future.

Everybody calm your tits and go home, nothing to see here.
