I'm going to really try to not derail this thread, but I feel like at this point we don't need a politician, and Cain is soooo not a politician. He's a business man, a money man. We need someone who is good with money right now.
Except businessmen are the reason your country is in the shitter right now. Didn't really think that one through, did you? You basically have no functioning government, your corporations run the show, and now you want to put one of them in complete charge.

But no, its not business men, its greedy business men with access to a lot of wealth and politicians with a desire for wealth and power. Man ran a pizza company and is running for president of a company that is many trillions of dollars in debt. do you really think there is a lot of money to be made there?

Who do you think he's working for?
Except his policies show that he just wants to make things even easier for wealthy Americans. Who do you think he's working for?
Thats what it looks like. but this idea has not yet been attempted in our country and right now we need a new idea. He has a new idea, and it makes sense to me, I'd like to see it tried, so I'm wanting to vote for him.
Syntax/Contag 2012 [/sarcasm]
Ohhhh I really don't want to be president. I have plenty of ideas I'd love to see tried, but the stress would kill me and I think I'd just end up nuking everyone.

Sounds just peachy.

[editline]31st October 2011[/editline] Heck it's been like what, nearly 35 years of Supply-Side Economics or "Reaganomics"?
It continues to strangle the middle class, gives the super rich a massive tax break, and decreases revenue. Sounds just peachy.
It does sounds peachy. But so far the ideas that have been rolling around haven't gotten anywhere and all thats happening is people entrenching themselves in their own hatred for the other side of the line. Its a new idea, if it doesn't work, then we try something else with the next president.
God help the world if cain gets elected.

You're already on the brink of collapse and you want to piss off the majority of your population, drive them further towards poverty all while sucking massive corporate cock? Yes, I'm certain that'll end well for you.

Yes, attack me because i'm optimistic and holding my own opinion. That makes lots of sense. I highly doubt our country will melt because a republican is taking office.

And now you want to introduce a person that will ruin your economy's last chance of revival, piss off your educated population probably to the point of them leaving, piss of the poor to the point of protests or maybe even riots, and finally reduce your international position to that of a "Look at this country, don't end up like them"-country. Sounds perfectly fine to me.

People are getting fed up with your shitty leaders, your shitty system, and your entire country.

Why do you think i'm pushing for such a radical change in our tax code?
What and you don't think I'm getting fed up with it too? Why do you think i'm pushing for such a radical change in our tax code?
Might wanna stick with the sensible approach instead of going fully retarded.
What and you don't think I'm getting fed up with it too? Why do you think i'm pushing for such a radical change in our tax code?
You don't like it being shitty... So you want to make it shittier. Why?
He's a Republican, his brain is damaged, don't act so surprised that what he says doesn't make any sense.
Jeez. Don't talk to democrats if you want a nice discussion. Lesson learned. And no, i'm not a republican, I'm an independent.
Cain is soooo not a politician.
how is he not a politician you can't just take the definitions of words and fucking throw them out of the window [editline]31st October 2011[/editline]
I highly doubt our country will melt because a republican is taking office.
yes but both george bush and reagan have done terrible things to the county, unwinding all the social progress and prosperity that progressives have worked so hard to set up. so yeah voting republican is morally a dick move

He has no political experience and therefore does not think like a politician. He is a business person by nature, not a politician. And its a dick move because it doesn't mesh with your morals, bud. Your morals are not the definition of everyone else's morals.
Jeez. Don't talk to democrats if you want a nice discussion. Lesson learned. And no, i'm not a republican, I'm an independent.
Please, you're as 'independent' as Karl Rove.
Wow, don't even begin to assume you know my morals, you don't know shit.
Dude, what kind of independent supports flat tax and deregulation? That is almost verbatim the GOP platform.

Jeez everyone here is very "one or the other, there is no inbetween" here. usual republican social policies scare the shit out of me. But the general idea of "stop spending so goddamn much" (which I know at some point in time used to be a republican point) is one thing i'm at least somewhat for. I'm not a republican, but the only candidate with any policies that I half like is Cain, and he just so happens to be a republican. How in the hell does that make me conservative, republican, or morally unsound?
