• Indiana OKs killing cops in own house

This is a great idea in a perfect world. BUT we're not in a perfect world. For every one person that shoots a cop that was actually breaking in unlawfully to hurt them/steal their stuff, a hundred dumbasses are going to shoot good cops who are there lawfully because the person does not fully understand the law, and in part because of the 'fuck da police' mentality that assails this nation. You try and 'fuck da police' when they come to your house lawfully with a warrant, see what happens.
I can't even tell you how many cops are about to get shot because the resident didn't KNOW the entry was legal. I can't imagine the Police are happy about this at all. I don't know what laws are like in the USA, but in Canada entry without a warrant is acceptable if there's reason to believe human life may be in danger.
I'm pretty sure this is addressing the SWAT teams who break in to the wrong guys house, split his head open, ransack his house, and kill his dog.
They aren't the mafia. when backup arrives they're going to arrest you but you wont have that much trouble in court though.
The backup that's with them from the start will shoot you on the spot the second you even raise a gun at them, they're not just gonna say "hey stop that" if you shoot a fellow officer right in front of them.
I'm pretty sure this is addressing the SWAT teams who break in to the wrong guys house, split his head open, ransack his house, and kill his dog.
Isn't this bill counter-productive because the police and SWAT are heavy handed in America because of the likely nature of the suspect being armed? And this will do nothing to alleviate that fear on both sides. Ever seen a raid in England? It's like a conga line of 20 overweight unarmed policemen warbling as they go into a council house like a reverse clown car. It's nearly amusing.
They aren't the mafia. when backup arrives they're going to arrest you but you wont have that much trouble in court though.
What this law is doing is giving people with guns the legal right to shoot at other people with guns and hope they won't shoot back.
And now the cops will just kick the door and shoot everybody so nobody is left to debate whether it was a lawful entry or not. This does nothing to address the real problem, which is the rubber-stamped no-knock warrants where police are bashing down doors in the middle of the night and shooting anyone that moves before they can scream "Wrong house, bro!"
This is in my state oh god why :pwn:
This is in my state oh god why :pwn:
Eh we very rarely have officers doing unlawful activity that would warrant deadly force. They just drink and drive their cruisers into shit.
This is in my state oh god why :pwn:
Indiana is a pretty backwards place.
Yeah if you shoot a cop then his buddies/backup are going to fucking mow you down. This is only going to end disastrously.
not if you kill them for breaking in too
Indiana is a pretty backwards place.
Hardly. The "recession" hasn't halted our growth and were doing great economically compared to our neighbors. We just have crazy shit come into law that doesn't even get attention on our news channels or really affect any of us.
Doing relatively good compared to your neighbors isnt really saying much when you're bordering Michigan though.
True true.
I don't understand how people of such retardation get into office and okay this kind of shit. There are lots of laws concerning on when a officer is able to enter your house and when he is not, laws that a lot of people are not aware of. All it takes is one ignorant person who thinks his right are being violated for their to be a shootout. I suppose taking a logical step and increasing punishment for illegal searches would be too much to ask.
As others have already pointed out this is incredibly stupid for many reasons, one of the main ones being that you're going to get your head ventilated by the officers as soon as you even reach for your gun.

Not just one bad cop who for any number of various reasons is abusing his authority to get back at you.
WOW What the fuck? This is really fucking messed up. I have no hope left in the USA
