Nintendo lays out plans for next decade; NOT planning to go third-party, but they are gonna branch o

I think they should just continue their first party games on slightly cheaper systems. Graphics really don't mean much when you have REALLY good first party. I bought my Wii U, and even though I don't play it at all now I am glad I did because of mario kart and super smash
They can start by getting their heads out of the 90's and getting rid of region locking.
They've pretty much said they will never get rid of region locking.
Lets not forget the pokewalker that came with HG/SS a few years back. That was one god damn accurate pedometer.
I think as long as they mix a real game with health features (e.g. Pokewalker), then I'm fully behind the idea. The 3DS' play coins from using it as a pedometer is also great, so it's clear that Nintendo is still keeping this in mind.

what do they gain from this? I mean I'll admit I will gain nothing from region locking but it still seems like a silly and pointless concept.
I could be down for this, if you could somehow combine the addictiveness of a good RPG with fitness training it could have some really positive results :v:
Imagine an RPG where if you wanted to go 15 km you actually would have to go 15 km in some hardcore survival environment.
That would be fucking awesome.
Not really a bad idea, but still a pretty boring one.
I don't think Nintendo realizes what they're missing out on
Ever since GBA4iOS came out, pokemon shot through the fucking roof on coolrom

GBA4iOS exploded at my school, in a matter of days everyone with an iPhone had it

You get friendly with retailers and you force people to pay the full regional price rather than buy a cheaper version elsewhere.
I have to say that they may be on to something with the health theme.
Recently at my work there was a Community Day where all the staff and faculty meet in one campus and participate in a couple of learning sessions. Needless to say, the session pertaining to staying fit and etc was the most popular. It was jammed packed with people for every session time and everyone wanted to go to it. That and I have seen an increasing number of people using FitBits and other fitness tracking devices where ever I go.
remember when nintendo didn't even make games and they made hanafuda cards and extendable arms that grabbed things and love hotels
this isn't anything new for nintendo
While this is a noble goal, it just goes to further show that Nintendo is completely clueless when it comes to what gamers actually want.
They're sitting on a shitload of great IPs that they're not doing anything with, make a new Starfox that doesn't suck or something, jesus christ. And learn how to do online features.
Nintendo's stubbornness is going to ruin them, it isn't 1990 anymore and they don't seem to realize
working on a game for the sake of people wanting it is how IPs are killed. there has to be somebody who wants to work on it that nintendo can trust if an IP is going to be used.

I heard from a friend in Seattle that they may be involved in the push, with other investors, to bring a hockey team to the city.
But it's just a rumor with nothing backing it up.
