Perhaps the greatest thing said in a long time. http://twitter.com/#!/AnonDaily/status/160142049692237825
Shit's going down
Oh, I'm not on the Anonymous hate bandwagon. I edited my post after I saw that it makes it seem like I'm bashing Anonymous.
I didn't mean you specifically man, it's all good <3 I was talking more to people in general, I think it's important for us all to remember days like this next time the Facepunch majority start slating Anonymous. It's them that'll be in the newspapers tomorrow fighting for the internet's freedom, not us.
Ouch. Doesn't mean anything though. This is just fuel for the SOPA supporters.
What are they gonna do about it? Censor the government's websites?
garrysmod.org has also been targeted if you join their IRC, what the fuck?
garrysmod.org has also been targeted if you join their IRC, what the fuck?
Is garrysmod.org working for anyone else? Probably some twat took advantage of the collective fervour to inject an ancillary target into the hate machine.
This is essentially the internet right now:
They're claiming to have taken down BMW.com now, though it's still up. How does BMW have any part in this? https://twitter.com/#!/AnonDaily/status/160145022216441857
Is garrysmod.org working for anyone else? Probably some twat took advantage of the collective fervour to inject an ancillary target into the hate machine.
Works fine for me. I think we're alright.
garrysmod.org has also been targeted if you join their IRC, what the fuck?
Probably someone who didn't like garry's post in the news node thread on the same subject.
And watch we get fucked even more because of that DDOS attack, good going Anon.
Works fine for me. I think we're alright.
That's odd. Not even a minute ago it was non-responsive for me.
that's just plain stupid no one notice when freedom on internet is under attack, but if you take down mafiosi you get the biggest reaction in years MU is dead and it's good, it was a few morons taking advantages of people too dumb to use P2P hopefully, people will start torrenting again so we can save the bandwidth on peering points and now teenagers going to scam the people stupid enough to care about MU: https://twitter.com/#!/AnonDaily/status/160145725391511554 how do i leave this world???
Why are they targeting BMW?
Awsome! Now go for the GEMA
Shit just got real. I can't believe this has happend before SOPA even has passed. Imagine after it passes, it will be ten times easier for them.
Update 10: La résistance est international—French copyright authority HADOPI bites the dust under Anon pressure.

They're claiming to have taken down BMW.com now, though it's still up. How does BMW have any part in this? https://twitter.com/#!/AnonDaily/status/160145022216441857
nothing at all.
Why are they targeting BMW?
According to their twitter they're targeting any website, any owner. I guess they're just going for all out chaos in an effort to focus the world media on the fact that "the internet" as a collective... is pretty fucking pissed. Proooobably not the wisest route, but when you've got a group of people like Anonymous on a roll things are going to spiral out of control. At least the innocent websites won't suffer any lasting damage, but they'll be martyrs for a greater cause. Still, would have been a bit classier to stick to just official government websites I reckon.
People always have such double standards with anonymous... bitching and moaning about their childish tactics one minute, and praising them the next. I'm more on the praise side of things generally, at the end of the day they get media attention. They're essentially the voice of the internet, and their ideals are similar to most of ours. It's times like this I'm glad they're around, and we all should be.
I'd just like to see Anonymous do something other than DDOS their target sites. It seems like that's the extent of their damage most of the time.
I'd just like to see Anonymous do something other than DDOS their target sites. It seems like that's the extent of their damage.
data dump is coming
According to their twitter they're targeting any website, any owner. It's chaos now, they said that the 1% has lost control of the situation... well so have they.
Shit just got real. I can't believe this has happend before SOPA even has passed. Imagine after it passes, it will be ten times easier for them.
we can all be thankfull for the US feds to attract so much attention funny thing this streisand effect fun fact: MPAA bribes its way to US government and tries to cancel all freedom on internet: no one cares apart from some weirdos MPAA shut down MU: world goes mad, therefore cutting all hopes to make SOPA pass way to go
i think they mixed up bmw with bmi
we can all be thankfull for the US feds to attract so much attention funny thing this streisand effect fun fact: MPAA bribes its way to US government and tries to cancel all freedom on internet: no one cares apart from some weirdos MPAA shut down MU: world goes mad, therefore cutting all hopes to make SOPA pass way to go
If no one cared but some weirdos. Then why was there a large black out day?
http://www.bmi.com/ Yeah it's down.
So pretty much this operation has already fallen apart? Can't trust Anon to do anything for more than 5 minutes.
I think this is the point. They just want media attention so they are targeting major websites to get attention for their cause.
I guess so, but the whole point in anonymous is that it isn't organised... obviously shit is going to get messy when there's this many pissed off nerds in one place. Like I said, in the grand scheme of things it's a good thing. It's just unfortunate they've lost a bit of class in the process, but this is certainly going to send a message. "The internet is not happy"
They'll probably remove porn websites reason: Illegal monetizing / Not Registered porn company or fraud or some bullshit :v:
Except when you own a small site that doesn't lock down after using to much bandwidth and get the bill.
I doubt BMW will have this problem... they're clearly targeting established websites and companies.
