Being unreasonable just to establish their victim-hood gives real victims a bad reputation.

By that logic, shouldn't they pelt any car with said year on the license plate?
To me, this looks like it happened because "oh its Top Gear, and thats the year that thing happened, they're obviously mocking us!"
bunch of wankers

Local councillor Juan Manuel Romano said the digits 269 on the number plate of the Ford Mustang were close to the 255 Britons killed during the 1982 war - and the numbers 646 on the Lotus could be taken as a reference to the 649 Argentinian casualties.

This is just Argentina being salty as fuck about the Falklands, like every single time they're relevant on the news.
Besides, at worse, it's just a reference to the war, we give the french a more serious ribbing and they don't get anywhere near as offended.
Talk about grasping for straws, jesus christ
Boy the must be mad all the time whenever they look at their clocks and a certain number shows up.
Or maybe it doesn't needs to be a certain number.
fucking idiots

makes sense
but doesn't excuses them from being fucking babies
Way to fucking generalize, because a group of veterans did this to them does not fucking mean the whole country thinks this is ok. Holy fuck, the amount of ignorance i get to see on this thread.
Aren't you a fucking anti-Semite?
As bad as it is, wanting to provoke the Argentinians over the war is just as bad as they are for pelting the crew with stones and making them leave. A lot of people were killed in what I see as a pointless war, principle was never worth the lives of all those people.
Yeah the Top Gear crew really provoked them with the clothes they were wearing.
I want Top Gear on a different channel where they have more creative freedom, i mean every year i get to hear a story on /r/topgear about the Top Gear team being stopped to do something because the BBC gets in the way.
But yeah, no BBC no funding.
BBC can't really cut them off fully either simply because it's the most watched tv show... in the world.
Doesn't surprise me, but i don't think it should surprise you knowing how much do some people care about the Falklands/Malvinas deal over here, and how much of a suggestive prick Clarkson can be/was reported to be.
Gotta admit, coming from a father who's a Navy officer who lost some good friends on that war, I have some mixed feelings about those plates, but again, they were 'suggesting' at worst IMO.
We certainly don't need the bad publicity. We have worse things to deal with.
This is just Argentina being salty as fuck about the Falklands, like every single time they're relevant on the news.
On the british news, you mean. I don't think anyone else cares as much as the Argies and the Brits.

Maybe because we lost and no one came over here to 'rescue' us.
Ahh Argentina, land of "we have all these problems that actually need fixing, but uhh, focus on this speck of land we invaded and got our asses kicked over. It belongs to us, even though it never actually has." What will you get buttmad about next?
Well this is extremely embarrassing. The war was and still is a sore spot in our history, but this is fucking barbaric and in no way justified.

Honestly, if I was Argentinian I'd be pretty fucking embarrassed about this whole thing. Seriously, trying to connect random numbers to the numbers of death? There aren't even any straws left to grasp at.

That's why I said it was a waste. A damn Espirit, pelted with rocks because of butthurt childish morons.
I don't care how offended you are at someone, resorting to violent acts like throwing stones at people is much worse than making a joke, I mean holy shit it's been over 20 years how are some Argentinians still so passionate about a war they lost?
Not to mention hardly anyone in the country wanted the war in the first place, we get it you're embarrassed about it and that's fine, but honestly do you see Germans stoning people for making World War 2 jokes or Americans getting offended when people joke about the Iraq/Vietnam/Korean wars. I honestly hope Jeremy Clarkson finds a way to offend them even more because of this, and I sincerely hope the people that threw stones at them are reprimanded in some way, I don't give a fuck how offended you are if you are willing to hurt others because of it then you should be put in an institution.
Argentina is just embarrassing itself more and more, and I guarantee this episode will have a high enough rating to make sure people know just how stupid they acted.
