Religion may not equal charity- but if you tax religion, without taxing (non profit charities) it doesnt take a genius to figure out that all religious institutions will now operate as non profit charities.
There's one problem with this. If they begin operating as non-profit charities, then obviously they would have to donate or use every single penny they earned. Something they clearly don't want to do now as they can shovel money into building "megachurches" and propaganda, along with lobbying (which they shouldn't be doing anyway due to their exemption). Yeah...I think the federal government knows how to use money a lot better than the Church does, for one they don't build fucking megachurches, they actually put the money into the country itself, even if that is the bloated defence budget.

Otherwise, they'd operate as one very briefly, get audited, then they'd be fucked up the ass by the IRS.
If you think the federal gov can use the money more efficiently- you havent been paying attention.
No, clearly you haven't or you're incredibly delusional, though both wouldn't be out of the question.
As for the "lousy poor ppl yadda yada"- i didnt even begin to say anything of the sort. What i said is if you feel there are organizations in need of funding- go ahead, im not stopping you.

Get a better job? Collect donations yourself? One thing ill never get is if god hates lgbt people, then why the fuck does he keep making them. Thats not very smart for this "ultimate being"

Thats not very smart for this "ultimate being"
That was basically the exact same argument made by that pastor who supported Obama's announcement that he supported gay marriage. He pretty much said "They were made as they are. God does not make mistakes, and they are His children as He wanted them."
This is just retarded. (User was permabanned for this post ("Gimmick" - Swebonny))
love for us atheists aren't just chemicals moving to us, fuck, to be honest, religion cheapens life for me, it's literally a second chance, preferring to believe there is no afterlife gives life more sanctity here's what i mean sure, its not love love in the picture's context, but the point stands, and its even worth more when you're in a relationship
At this moment I am euphoric
Why is everyone always crediting religion organizations for charity work, but when someone blames religion for X people go "oh that's not religions fault, that's just people being dicks" Serious question
because the churches etc. do the charities, and some members of the church help out, but not all.
If you pay taxes, you are entitled to have a say in how that money is spent. If you do not want the church involved in government, don't expect government to get involved in church's fiscal matters.
Huh, really? Last I checked my taxes were being used to pay for stupid fucking shit I don't want my paycheck going towards.
But how else is god supposed to build a spaceship to travel to the center of the universe?
