• Darpa to Create Immortal Synthetic Organisms for War

Well, this isn't going to turn out well...
Make zombies already, Darpa. I grow tired of waiting.
hey look its another darpa-funded project that won't get off the ground.
I hope this is never made real. This is not right. You can't program an immortal, perfect killing machine and expect nothing to go wrong. Regardless of a killswitch, this has NEVER been done before. There is no way we could predict what will happen through these organisms evolving. Sure, perhaps our enemies will back down at first, this will ensure peace. But this ultimate power in the hands of just a handful of already corrupt men will result in nothing but suffering. Imagine if another country developed these? It would be mutually assured destruction. The perfect weapon of war can never ensure peace. This is extremely foolhardy. We would be throwing caution to the wind. Throwing all of humanity's progress away for power and bloodshed. This should never happen. You don't fucking screw with the genetic codes on which everything we know is based on.
Make zombies already, Darpa. I grow tired of waiting.
I think they already did that.
I think they already did that.
:what:
Immortal killing machines that aren't effected by disease? Yeah, this can't backfire at all.
This sounds like a really, really, bad idea. This will backfire and go horribly wrong.
This sounds like something straight out of Metal Gear Solid 4. I am reminded of the Gekko.
OP, you might want to check out a news article I posted not so long ago... DARPA C.E.O. = Voldemort :ohdear:
So why can't I be immortal too? If you're going to make our warrior-slave-monsters immortal, why not me? I'd like to live for a thousand years, thank you very much.
As long as DARPA can turn me into a real-life "Robocain" (sans the junkie problem), I'm down with this :q:
SHIT- Gotta prepare for the Zombie apocalypse.
Three possibilites. 1. ROBOT OVERLORDS 2. MUTANT OVERLORDS 3. ORK OVERLORDS This was a good plan.
Must i remind you all what Yahtzee has said in the past?
Create a supersoilder that can think in anyway shape or form and eventually ITS GOING TO TURN ON YOU.
DARPA? DERPA? :smug:
Imagine a creature that is programmed to feel no pain, never question orders, and come fresh out of the cloning tube it was hatched from already pre-programmed with an instinctual knowledge of all forms of weaponry, tactics, language, medicine, interrogation, and saluting the right way. Such a creature would require no training, and many generals would find it far easier to sacrifice a hundred thousand of them to take over a small area of land. And of course the ethical concerns of what they were would be measured in dollars, rather than the tears of loved ones. Such creatures could be made to even look like war machines, replacing the typical human features with monstrous ones designed to strike fear into the hearts and minds of the enemy. ??
Thanks to Darpa's $6 million dollar program
No way this thing only costs 6 million I'd think more like 6 BILLION
They are synthetic not Robotic.
Arnold Schwartzernegger's charachter had synthetic skin :v:? [editline]05:27PM[/editline]
No way this thing only costs 6 million I'd think more like 6 BILLION
it costs like 6 million dollars to pave a road here it's also cost 2 billion to create a new train ticketing system :wtc:
Oh DARPA what a tool they were, now I have to spend all day computing pi because DARPA created the master race. Seriously, this is Ford Nucleon level of dumb.
I'm all for it. What could possibly go wrong?
That's a wardrobe. Your outhouse's ass is grass.
...You mean you DON'T keep clothes in an out-house? Man, maybe I SHOULD have gone to the big city and bought me some book-learnin'...
Fuck I was planning on making these when I was older.
Fuck I was planning on making these when I was older.
So did I. We can make a better ones and then have them to beat the crap out of theirs. :colbert:
Where would we be without darpa.
