Well maybe they chose SS because (as stated before) is a Corp. acronym for Scout Sniper, like EOD for Explosive Ordnance Disposal. Obviously, they chose SS to show that off, and got a tad ignorant and slapped SS on their flag not realizing how much shit they'd stir.
Anyone who went through high school should know who the god damn SS are so unless these soldiers are completely ignorant of the second world war then I think it's perfectly reasonable that they chose to stylize it on the SS. I mean god forbid people finding a branch of the military using a symbol that looks almost identical to the symbol of a military organisation that orchestrated a genocide offensive.
HOLY SHIT GUYS SOCIAL STUDIES IS REFERRED TO AS SS BY MY TEACHERS NAZI CONSPIRACY c

They used pretty much the exact same flag as used by the SS, and that's why people are complaining.
Or maybe Kiss are Nazis.
Kiss are Jews.
The Nazis ruin everything
The Nazis ruin everything
People only like the symbols because the Nazi's used them and want to be edgy.
Wow, this story broke in the normal press months ago..
Every civilization that once existed on the planet virtually used at least once a swastika symbol. And out of all the iterations of that same symbol, if you pick the one that was used less than a century ago by a bunch of racist maniacs who lead a massive war and murdered thousands of people, and who still have to this very day people almost worshiping them as gods, you are either an ignorant, a moron or someone who's trying way to hard to get some attention.
I considered getting one of these as a tattoo a while ago. I'm saying this as a guy with german and jewish ancestry. I'm fucking tired of a war 70 years ago telling me I can't do a thing because the nazis did it.
these guys just want to look cool too, like the nazis did
uh they are snipers that's their job
that's the joke.jpg
their snipers, oh shit
All modern helmets are based off of German designs from WW1/WW2, they were much better than those used by any other country by providing the most protection
Chile still uses Stahlhelms based off the M42 design. This is mainly due to the massive amount of influence the Kingdom of Prussia, the German Empire, and even Nazi-Germany had on their military. They supplied them with uniforms and equipment, and they routinely dispatched advisers to help them. They not only wear their uniforms and use their equipment, they even play their military marches. Chile's really the last bastion that carries on with their traditions. I don't know of anybody else these days that still wears pickelhaubes lol.
all the jews in Afghanistan must of been pissed
This one guy (Satire post, there are probably other jews as well)

I hate the Nazis so much somebody should do something about those guys
Force them to listen to lots of Klezmer music

havent they had this for ages?
Heil Obama? :v:
they didn't just "slap SS on their flag", though, if it had been in fucking Times New Roman or Comic Sans no one would have cared (or at least not nearly as much).
Except that's hardly a flag and it looks terrible, while this actually looks really cool I get what you're saying but obviously aesthetics was a factor
i think they werent using the flag to represent the entire SS party and more of a reference to the fact that its a sniper squad and the Waffen-SS were some of the best?
I don't blame them, the stylized "SS" is damn sexy.
The SS stands for "Super Smooth." :v: [sp]Kudos if you get the reference.[/sp]
i think instead of complaining about the SS logo, maybe we should complain about the fact that there are marines killing people in Afghanistan?? to me that just seems like a more pertinent issue.
The German soldiers weren't Nazi's, the SS on the other hand was a branch of the Nazi party.
Well, there were three main branches to the Schutzstaffel that were really different from each other in how they operated, what they were responsible for... and what they were guilty of... 1) Allgemeine-SS (Universal SS): composed entirely of paramilitary reserves, security officers, and government management forces; Gestapo was probably the most notorious sub-branch, and they had full control over all of Germany's policing and civil legal affairs by 1939; worked in tandem with the Totenkopfverbände-SS 2) Totenkopfverbände-SS (Deaths-Head Units SS): composed of both paramilitary and military forces; responsible for most of the atrocities committed by the Germans during the course of the war; in charge of all concentration camps and death camps with minor involvement in work camps 3) Waffen-SS (Combat SS): elite military wing that was composed of volunteers who had been deemed "Aryans" and had passed all administered training programs and necessary examinations; regulations were relaxed in 1940 and they began accepting non-Germans; they weren't directly involved in the Holocaust, but they did commit quite a few war crimes against civilians on the Eastern Front and Allied servicemen in Italy, France, and Belgium
They're just fans of selective service
That's awesome... I'm sorry but I don't like what the Nazi's did but their uniforms and stuff is just awesome...
What's the big deal , its not like they posed with sawstikas and fake Hitler mustaches.
3) Waffen-SS (Combat SS): elite military wing that was composed of volunteers who had been deemed "Aryans" and had passed all administered training programs and necessary examinations; regulations were relaxed in 1940 and they began accepting non-Germans; they weren't directly involved in the Holocaust, but they did commit quite a few war crimes against civilians on the Eastern Front and Allied servicemen in Italy, France, and Belgium
The Soviets did this and worse right back to them as well.
