It's to me that gay people are not born gay. There's just no evidence for it, and I can't see it being logically possible. HOWEVER, I completely support gay rights and I have gay friends, and I do not view it as a disease or something unnatural or anything like that. I see it as something unique a personal has or feels, and it is a harmless one at that. Gay rights shouldn't have to come from genetic evidence or medical science, it should come from tolerance and respect towards your fellow man or woman.

In the end no one here is smart enough to solve this problem. If it was easy to solve then it wouldn't be a major problem and we wouldn't be talking about it right now. People calling each other dumb does not help one bit.

Where would gay soldiers bunk with? Other men? That would lead to, likely, romance on the field. So whats the solution, bunk the gays with women? Then every male soldier is gonna be gay sooner or later.

I'm sure if someone asked a gay person if they had a girlfriend at home and they said that they were gay it wouldn't have any harm. Well, there is a lot of homophobes in America so maybe...

What kind of train of thought are you getting across here? Straight men secure with their sexuality won't slowly degrade into homosexuals.

If DADT is repealed then gays, open with their sexuality may find other gays in their unit, increasing sexual tensions.

Repeat of DADT changes that.

If you turn out to be gay, your out. 1.) Means gays have trouble finding other gays, and thus, finding others to romance while at work. 2.) Ordinary soldiers are in a 'buddy' relationship, means overall morale is higher. Look: If your gonna repeal DADT, might as well join male and female corps together under one roof.

This situation reminds me of watching several documentaries on prisoners. What happens to gays/straights when you introduce them into an all male environment? Straight prisoners that rape or have sex with other male inmates do not call themselves gay even though they are having intercourse with another male. I think the true problem lies in society. Prisoners are outside of society, and I believe that's the reason why it is more acceptable.

I don't see why homosexuality is such a damn big deal. If someone is gay, so what? If it isn't normal, who cares, they aren't harming anyone. Flaunting it is annoying, but there are Christians who flaunt their Christianity, yet it isn't illegal to be Christian. And if you do get hit on by a gay guy, take it as a compliment. There are many things that are legal in America that I don't find normal, but they still deserve the same rights so long as they aren't harming anyone.
