They just want early access to technology talent so the contractors can gobble them up. Nothing to see here.
Majority of them don't even know how to hold a real weapon, let alone adjust sights, reload quickly, how to insert a bullet into a magazine. I've always wanted to enlist in the Army, since I was 5-7, and become a paratrooper. The Military, not just the Army, always changes. No one will perfectly know how they work.
We do know they don't want to send the brightest of this generation out to be cannon fodder.
The army is overflowing. We won't ever need a fucking draft, especially with the amount of kids growing up now who know that the military will pay for an assload of your educational bill.
fixed
If there was a draft, I wouldn't flip out and go apeshit on my country. A lot of countries already do it, and they aren't even in any active wars. BT would be good for my lazy ass anyways.
If there was a draft, I think it's safe to say I'll be fine. They won't want me.
Source: http://wjz.com/local/morgan.state.army.2.1685192.html Something tells me that a military draft is soon to come. When the military needs to have a presence in colleges to get people, something's wrong. Anyone else feel a draft coming?
there's not going to be a draft; and there probably never will be another draft ever again if you ask me the military doesn't need to have a presence anywhere; the economy is already the best recruiter the military has at the moment. A few months ago the Army was already over 50% of their quota for the fiscal year, and the year ends in October. They've actually had to get stricter on some of the requirements to join because there's a much bigger recruitment pool now. Even if we are "spread thin" there's no shortage of prospective troops. Drafts suck anyway, my great uncle was a drill instructor during Vietnam and he said there was a notable difference in the quality of soldiers between enlistees and draftees (he was a DI during and before/after the draft, I forgot which). What's this university doing anyway?
College rotc possibly?
College rotc possibly?
no, it's R&D related
Wow, sorry I'm not up on my military partnerships, and if you actually look up info on the draft, and George W. Bush, he was about to re-enstate it at the beginning of the current war. FYI, I'm 23, so I'm on the latter part of the draft list. I'm not a 'paranoid wacko.'
If you're ignorant in the subject then you shouldn't have even posted the thread to begin with. The US military has over a million in reserve, a draft is the last thing on anyones mind, if not further back. For Gods sake you people have computers, use them.

FYI, Alex Jones is a crackpot conspiracy theorist and NOT a credible source.
We do know they don't want to send the brightest of this generation out to be cannon fodder.
It's not that simple. Regardless of whatever specialization you have, mission dictates what you will actually be doing. Case in point, I am a 25B(Information Technology Specialist), and on my first Deployment to Afghanistan I was a .50 Cal Gunner, and a radio maintainer. On my current deployment in Iraq, I literally spend everyday dealing with various Microsoft Office/Exchange/Outlook/etc problems.
I'm joining willingly. Problem? I think not.
Any updates on if the draft is back?
Any updates on if the draft is back?
There won't ever be a draft, unless something on the same scale as World War Two happens.
Something tells me that a military draft is soon to come. When the military needs to have a presence in colleges to get people, something's wrong. Anyone else feel a draft coming?
I can't even begin to tell you how unlikely that is. Enlistment rates are through the roof, and our military forces are operating at well over capacity. My drill sergeants liked to remind us that since the Army was operating at %110 capacity, none of us were necessary or useful- and as such were totally expendable. It was heartwarming.
