I don't see how this captures the imagination of children at all
Just a reminder that this was picked over the train from Back to the Future Part III https://ideas.lego.com/projects/35422 Such a shame.
How the fuck could something like this get rejected? what fucking idiot do they have selecting the winners?
I still find it funny people shit on the show because of a single word. I don't think bazinga has been used for years now. Its not that great of a show but damn stop hating so much just because its popular.
I shit on it because "lol look at these socially dysfunctional nerds trying to live their lives like normal people but they can't BECAUSE THEY'RE NERDS HAHA". But hey, think of it this way: Now the show is as painful to step on as it is to watch.
Hey guys complaining about TBBT being degrading to nerds Remember Urkel and other shit like that? Nerds were always berated in society. If anything, TBBT has done you guys a massive favour. Being into nerdy shit is a lot more socially acceptable now. You can like obscure weeb trash or 80s tv shows that are well dead and not be berated for it. And you have TBBT to thank for that.
Wasn't this apart of a contest about set ideas? There was Lego Birds set that won with the Big Bang Theory which was really cool.
Hey look, its Mordecai!

His intelligence was pretty much his one likable trait/selling point/comedic cash-cow up until they finally decided "y'know maybe Laura will finally warm up to the poor kid and start a relationships with him after decades of treating him like slime". If you had a neighbor who was constantly destroying your property for any reason, scientific or otherwise, you wouldn't take much liking to them, either. It's entirely possible to be a nerd and not be obnoxious. Nerds/geeks were becoming more popular before TBBT even started airing because of the rise in technology and how much more reliant our society has become on it. That scrawny kid who wouldn't shut up about World War Hulk and always carried around a Super Mario book bag suddenly becomes your best bud, because he can replace your laptop screen after you drop-kicked it because your dumb ass downloaded a 785KB King Ralph "movie" off of Limewire and it locked you out with malicious scareware. (that part about the 785KB "King Ralph" seriously happened to a guy I know, there were no tools to remove such infestations at the time so I was forced to reformat/reinstall for him, all because he couldn't be bothered to cough up $2 for a bargain-bin movie at Wal-Mart)

It's like someone took the concept of friends, took any of the wit or humour out of it and then just made all the character nerds and filled it full of terrible "nerd culture" references The IT crowd made fun of nerds, but people, even people who would be described as nerdy, still loved it because it was actually funny
Lets not forget that they also said they were going to do Wall-E and Doctor Who sets: https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/1-blog/post/26
at least those would make fucking sense
uh no videogames have been accepted for a while now even before tbbt
I still remember when the X-Box came out, nobody would shut up about Halo for at least a year.
How the fuck could something like this get rejected? what fucking idiot do they have selecting the winners?
For a set to be considered, it only needs 10,000 votes on the Lego Ideas website. I imagine that a large set like this would need to sell a lot more than that for Lego to make a profit from it.
Things like TBBT have normalized "nerd stuff" in our culture. It's not weird to read comic books or play video games anymore. It's just a thing people like to do. [editline]4th June 2015[/editline] This is not a comment on the quality of TBBT. It is still a sitcom.
They never needed to be "normalized" in the first place.
People need to settle down about TBBT. It's not a good show but neither is pretty much any other sitcom.
Seinfeld? It's Always Sunny? Trailer Park Boys?
I was watching the tv channel cbs, and one of the bumps was 30 seconds of just BAZINGA. I'm not kidding, just 30 seconds of BAZINGA over and over, with Sheldon's fucking face. Fuck big bang theory.
I dont like the show but I still dont get the hate
Those are the exception, not the rule. That's why there's a "pretty much" in there. [editline]5th June 2015[/editline] Trailer Park Boys isn't really a sitcom, and It's Always Sunny is pushing it. But don't forget Malcom in the Middle and That 70s Show!
All of those are totally just a situation comedy. However Rocket saying that all sitcoms are bad was just a shitty opinion.
1. I'm Rocket. 2. I didn't say all sitcoms were bad. I said that pretty much every sitcom is bad. The good ones are the exceptions.
All sitcoms are bad except the ones which are good? Makes a lot of sense.
Lets not forget that they also said they were going to do Wall-E and Doctor Who sets: https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/1-blog/post/26
I want the Wall-e
I dont like the show but I still dont get the hate
Getting way, way too upset over minimal things is a gigantic part of nerd culture. You have a facepunch account; you should get this.
