You can buy the alpha on the 5th of march. You can't pre-order it.
You can buy the alpha on the 5th of march. If you choose the digital deluxe or the supporter version, you'll get ArmA 3 automatically when it comes out, so technically you can preorder on the 5th of march.
Alpha version too.

totally getting this
DayZ may have kickstarted a lot of people's interest in the game but I've been playing the games in the series since Arma 1 came out. Plus I played DayZ the week before it became big, good times. The times you could stroll through a city and people used them for trading spots instead of death grounds.
Everyone wants to think DayZ is what made arma so good. People forget Arma has been out for a long time and has more advanced mods then DayZ. Yes dayZ is fun, but it only utilizes a small percent of armas true capabilities.
I got all the Arma/OFP excluding the console port version. (those are garbage)
It was more the influx of people who started fucking around on ArmA servers once they realized they could ruin games and spawn jets/bomb people anonymously.
Isn't that exactly what you used to do?
I remember one day you asked me to come to servers where you would troll everyone by playing random sound files like the SS march and spawned jets that would blow everything up.
Damn, 3's apparently coming out and I don't even have Arma II. Am I missing out?

Never have I done any such action.
I guess I'll just get the Alpha Edition. Since I already own Operation Flashpoint/Cold War and mostotheR Arma content I don't see much of a point of paying all the extra cash for Deluxe or Supporters' Editions. Also Supporters Edition it seems won't be on Steam and I know I won't be in the first 500.
Now I want to go back and play Operation Flashpoint...
Not really, If you look at most of the screenshots, it's all this futuristic looking stuff where everything's super triangular angled, even when it doesn't make sense. Hexagon camo patterns and even Comanches. I still don't know why we said No to the Comanche, though, in the real world
I just want Ace2 with Ragdolls. That's all I want. And the spiffy new optimization improvements that Arma 3 is supposedly bringing in
Comanche program was barreling towards a dead end, unfortunately. We may have placed unrealistic weight and size requirements for what it needed to accomplish.
In practice, I would imagine it makes more sense to make two stealth helicopters.
The Comanche was to serve as the scout for full blown gunships. It would make more sense to me to make a stealth version of the OH-58 and a stealth version of the Apache. Not necessarily based off their airframes, but simply similar in size and role.
Assuming we still had a desire for a stealth gunship capability.
itt people caring about arma because of DayZ
It was supposed to be a scout helicopter afaik.

If you have an interest in military simulation, yes.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Wait what's up with the 44% discount? I can't see it anywhere.

I think the prices you see right now are the discounted price. As the Alpha ends and the Beta begins, the prices will go up.
My only concern is the performance. Even with that recommended/minimum requirements picture I'm still worried.

Thats probably why there's going to be an alpha.
What's with the fuss on ACE? Its a feature, not a requirement. Though its pretty bad that these features are not made into the game.
Also, I think it could had sold better as a modern day. Maybe I'm just too used to Bohemia doing modern day but I prefer it over their near future stuff

How about we not start shit in an unrelated thread for no reason. Thanks.

Anybody find it funny this guy doesn't know what the word minimum means?

Admittedly though, DayZ has been great for ARMA as a whole. It brought ARMA II into the mainstream, and certainly all that extra DayZ money has gone into ARMA 3 development.
DayZ has only been good for ARMA.

£159.99 for the Supporters and £90 for the Digital deluxe? I highly doubt it.
