Apple sued by ACCC, will refund Australians over 'false' iPad 4G

once I experienced 200mb/s download speed at a massive lan. feels powerful! :D
500 kb/s second, 700 mb daily limit.
Living outside of the city doesn't even compare to living in the country.
It's funny but where I live was one of the first places in the world to get fiber optics.
It's funny because I live in the middle of nowhere farmland in Norway.
Why here? Why not like a city or something?
Either way, enjoying the fast life... net.

NSW bro's, and im on ADSL2 and get max 2mbs
11MB/s is "acceptable"? Fuck, that would be fucking amazing! The best I can get in my area is 800KB/s (I do live in a rural kind of area though), and even then I reckon that's acceptable (except for night time where it might slow down to less than half of that).
Sadly TPG (or no provider for that matter) offers ADSL2 in my area.
That is actually just 1.1MB/s, not 11MB/s, not that much of a difference between 800KB/s and 1.1MB/s..

Not in our area

I know that feel, bro. I know that feel.
I doubt anyone would refund anyway, chances are anyone with the new Ipad bought it because it's an Ipad, they probably didn't care, let alone know about it's so called 4G capabilities.
Well, if they bought the 4G model and there's no 4G to connect to, they could get a refund for the 4G model and buy the WiFi only model and still have some cash left over.
So the USA is the only place in the world in which carriers can lie about 4G?
In Panama, all carriers are claiming to have 4G when it's actually HSPA+
We can get pretty fast internet now:

It's just limited to cities really, we still have bad upload speeds (I think?)
Also our mobile internet is a joke, in my own experience, if you are with any carrier apart from Telstra, you get terrible reception and mobile browsing is pretty much impossible
The thing is, pretty much anyone in a city can get this service from Optus and Telstra now through their HFC line (which is also shared by our cable television service). It's just that the majority of people aren't aware because it isn't being marketed for some reason.
In a few years, it'll be made redundant through pure fiber lines they're installing now to mostly every home through the NBN.
That's if the NBN lasts that long. Looks like Labor is going to be decimated in the next federal election.
It's at a point where dismantling the NBN would be a really stupid idea. Most areas in the country are going to be developed for access by 2013/2014, some areas in the country already have the service available
There's nothing to dismantle in most areas, and even by mid-2014 (when the results of 2013's election will take affect in the Senate), they'll only stop the building of further infrastructure, and sell of all previous assets.
I believe the 3 year plan only brings NBN coverage to less than 40% of Australia.
That isn't really true at all though,
There's going to be a fucktonne of infrastructure built by the time the next elections come around

We're going to need a fiber network eventually, why not get it over with? It'd be really stupid to just tear it all down.
Mmm, I think you misread what I wrote. I said there's nothing to dismantle in most areas, because they'll sell the infrastructure. Sure, they might take apart some of the links, or whatever, but they'll just sell the network, as is, to a telco provider.
This is what the Liberals want. NBNCo to be a private company, building a national network.
