Stop right there, criminal scum!
God is going to be pissed about this.
I thought we already knew about this? I can't remember the video but on YouTube there is a video where a part of it has the transition of fish to land animal. The fins grow outwards and thicken into limbs.
Well yeah we know what happens, but this is about us finding out how it happened.
Science! :science:
*whales evolved from rat-like things*
:psyduck: [editline]07:20PM[/editline] "Mom, I got a new pet!" "Oh, cute! What is it?" "Well, once it was a mouse... Oh, we need a large fish tank."
Well, much further before that, it was a single celled animal, so.. :v:
:psyduck: [editline]07:20PM[/editline] "Mom, I got a new pet!" "Oh, cute! What is it?" "Well, once it was a mouse... Oh, we need a large fish tank."
It's species was once a large rat, not that animal :science:
yeah, evolution happens on a population basis, not an individual basis
yeah, evolution happens on a population basis, not an individual basis
If you mean all animals of a species at once worldwide then no, if I remember correctly that's wrong, but if you mean for example a group of chimps in Kenya evolving together, but separate of a group of monkeys in Namibia then yeah that's right.
yeah, that's what I meant :v: not really easy for the traits of a group on one side of the planet to benefit and be absorbed into a population of the same species on the other side of the planet
Or even on a near by island. ie. Darwins finches.
I simply cannot believe we evolved from fish by mere 'chance'. Incoming Shitstorm.
You're right. We never evolved by 'chance' at all. The strongest come out on top, hence natural selection.
You're right. We never evolved by 'chance' at all. The strongest come out on top, hence natural selection.
This, when people say the usual "I refuse to believe we came from fish/monkeys by chance/other bullshit" I want to fuck them with a rake and make them regret mentioning their horse shit to me.
You're right. We never evolved by 'chance' at all. The strongest come out on top, hence natural selection.
Yes, but the individual mutations during gene replication are random, remember.
Can't believe that in this day and age, only like 20% of Americans think evolution is true... :eng99:
http://www.gallup.com/poll/114544/darwin-birthday-believe-evolution.aspx 40% you mean
http://www.gallup.com/poll/114544/darwin-birthday-believe-evolution.aspx 40% you mean
People who don't "believe" in evolution are just to stupid enough to understand what it really is.
People who don't "believe" in evolution are just to stupid enough to understand what it really is.
Agreed. If they did the same questionnaire, but then asked them to DEFINE evolution, you can guarantee that 100% of people who know what it is believe in it.
If you clearly defined the basics of evolution then 100% of people should believe it. The ones who don't are the religious zealots and fucking morons that need to be swept out of existence.
You're right. We never evolved by 'chance' at all. The strongest come out on top, hence natural selection.
Strongest isn't the right word. The phrase is 'best suited to the situation'. Take the arctic and red foxes as an example. The red is bigger, meaner and can stand the temperatures of the arctic. The arctic is smaller and meeker and is dominated or killed by the red whenever they come into conflict. The reason why the red fox hasn't taken over is that it needs more to eat than the arctic. Red foxes can handle the cold, but they can't get enough to eat. The arctic fox is smaller, weaker and thus more efficient and can get enough to eat. That's why until global warming that they weren't challenged by the reds.
They should do some looking at the mudskipper, that thing practically lives out of water.
That thing is so cool. It excavates the mudcave it lives in by gobbling up the mud and spitting it out on the surface.
People who don't "believe" in evolution are just too stupid enough to understand what it really is.
It makes me sad that the public school system has failed in teaching the other 60% about evolution.
It makes me sad that the public school system has failed in teaching the other 60% about evolution.
It's a depressing self-perpetuating cycle. Religious dogma hinders it and because the teaching of it (among other things) is crippled, the students are more likely to support the dogma against it which feeds back in and so forth.
Hello, what's going on here?
