Most likely Chechens. They've hit the Moscow subway before. It's an obvious target, poor security, VERY crowded during rush hour, the trains are built like beer cans and the walls are very thick so a lot of shrapnel in a very confined space.

Most of the family members we're calling up now had barely gotten up, they hadn't heard of the bombing yet so we're starting to feel a bit better now but there's still a lot of uncertainty.

It's not even the first time we've lost someone we know to this sort of stuff. Bus bombings, subway bombings, they've happened before but none that I personally remember.

It must've been a high explosive to do so much but generate no fire. If it were something like a fuel line exploding, it would've created a fire, and a low explosive wouldn't do so much and most likely would have created a fire.
