just a reminder that the only reason trump said this today is because he was watching fox and friends and farage was talking about the NHS
I'd love to see some paper on correlation between Fox and Friends topics and Trump comments.
This is both sad and funny. What did that cunt have to say anyway? I can't find a video of it at all
Found it, if anyone else wants to know what he said https://youtu.be/5p3CMTDHL08
Farage used to want to get rid of the NHS and only changed his position when it became clear that it was political suicide. You can see hints of that in there. The key issue the NHS has is that it's underfunded.
Per capita the NHS receives significantly less money than medicare and medicaid, yet it provides for everyone. Part of that is down to the ridiculous prices in the US, but the cost is still impressive and could reasonably be increased.
It's been strategically underfunded by not providing increases in line with population growth, but they also effectively cut it's budget by cutting funding for things like social care which then force people into A&E and other NHS services where they were being dealt with outside before but with no extra funding. The bursary for training nurses has gone as well, despite the UK being in desperate need of more staff.
When they announce things like a large amount of extra funding for mental health services it's just reassigned from existing, already stretched budgets. Giving the NHS more money through tax increases has vast support and really should happen ASAP.

Oh god he even did the "soooo" thing done exclusively either by tween girls or to appear sarcastic.
But here's the thing; private healthcare here isn't a complete rip-off because the government regulates drug prices.
I mean it's pricey, but it's not that bad, especially if you have insurance.
I'm paying $120 in deductibles for a fucking ear infection, don't you give me this "it's not that bad" horseshit.
I'd be dead or bankrupt if I lived in the United States, as would the entirety of my immediate family. That's all I really need to say about this, I think.
Thanks to the NHS not being totally destroyed just yet I was recently able to confirm that some bullshit my body decided to do wasn't the early onset of cancer or me just generally falling apart. Like fuck I'd get a chance to do that in the US without having to reconsider eating for a few weeks or months on my salary.
But people, please don't take this as Jeremy Hunt being a good person or anything. The guy is still a massive shitheel (there's a reason news and talk show hosts kept accidentally calling him "Jeremy Cunt"). His main goal is to dismantle the fucking thing as far as politically possible so it collapses from public distrust. The man is such a fucking shambles of a organiser that the 2012 Olympics hired possibly the worst private security firm in the country for the job on his watch then had to bolster the numbers with our military as they outright refused to supply the contractors we were paying for.

Man those replies are cancer. Like literally no-one, bar no-one is paying £345 a week tax for healthcare.
Even the way Trump phrases it himself goes against what he's trying to say. "They're marching because the universal healthcare system is broken". Okay, so, they are mad that they don't have working universal healthcare??
Where the fuck did the Republican "it's flawed, therefore burn it to the ground" thought process come from?
Because if you scare everyone into thinking a system needs to be perfect to implement you'll always be able to avoid change.

He's talking about the UK. The US doesn't regulate drug prices.
Nvm I'm a fucking idiot who can't read.
