• Arcade Fire makes "~EdGY" comment against Deadmau5 and other artists at Coachella

even those comments make me rage people need to realize you have to know a ton about music to make electronic stuff. Most of my electronic stuff I actually play the notes real-time anyways, then do a lot of post-stuff
It really is a non-statement since they have experimented with electronic music too. If they made a sarcastic remark directed at another artist then it would be newsworthy but this is just a badly executed joke.

Deadmau5 should have gone with something like "Shoutout to all the artists here somebody actually cares about"
I thought Arcade Fire were one of the more respectable bands in the industry but obviously I was wrong.

Saddens me that they said this, I thought they were a pretty cool band.

why did I know in advance that their music is something I literally couldn't listen to for a single whole song without getting bored out of my mind
why did I know in advance that their music is something I literally couldn't listen to for a single whole song without getting bored out of my mind
Cause you know you're an obnoxious sperg.
why did I know in advance that their music is something I literally couldn't listen to for a single whole song without getting bored out of my mind
You do realize they have done other songs?
why did I know in advance that their music is something I literally couldn't listen to for a single whole song without getting bored out of my mind
It's their only song I've heard. It was in that Walter Mitty film. Not my taste of music but it's not that bad.
I don't like AF but Deadmau5 acted like a little bitch as usual. He had an argument with himself on Twitter which is pathetic. He could have handled it like an adult or professional but he never does
tho http://deadmau5.tumblr.com/post/25690507284/we-all-hit-play
i dunno though deadmuau5 m8, i've played DJ Hero and that shit is hard
tho http://deadmau5.tumblr.com/post/25690507284/we-all-hit-play
what a tube. a lot of electronic music artists do more than play premixed sets [editline]24th April 2014[/editline]
Well he's talking about a live venue, where you would expect them to play live. Just like every other live band regardless of genre, because people generally think it's lazy and uninteresting when a band has their music pre-recorded and is just pretending to play. If your live performance is simply your studio recording played through bigger speakers, why should people be interested in the show? Part of the assumption going into a live show is that it will actually be live.
people go to a concert to enjoy music with other like minded people, is that hard to understand?
Why does hardly anyone know who Arcade Fire is in the UK? They've had two number one albums here, which means someone must have bloody bought them :v:
Normal people don't buy albums anymore I guess and the only one that still do are hipsters who just need to own a disc.
Normal people don't buy albums anymore I guess and the only one that still do are hipsters who just need to own a disc.
yeah wanting to support labels and artists makes me a total fuckin hipster right
Deadmau5 should have gone with something like "Shoutout to all the artists here somebody actually cares about"
They're one of the most acclaimed indie rock bands out there today. Sure Butler made a dickish comment but to say that no one cares about them is just flatout wrong. I've only listened to Funeral and Reflektor and the latter was a lot more appealing to me. I'm just not a huge fan of the baroque pop style.
I bought Reflektor and tried to give it away to a friend later that night, shit was super uninteresting to me
arcade fire a bunch of autistic antisocial weird people, doesn't make their music any less great
Normal people don't buy albums anymore I guess and the only one that still do are hipsters who just need to own a disc.
The person whose album was at number one before them was Katy Perry, and after them it was Eminem, so I wouldn't say people who buy albums really fit into a hipster stereotype. Also, album sales include downloads, so the 'just buying to own' a disc thing makes little sense either.
Too bad Arcade Fire sucks absolute dick. Talking shit because that's what they produce. Note: I don't like dubstep / electronic music either, but it's still a valid form of music.
I bought Reflektor and tried to give it away to a friend later that night, shit was super uninteresting to me
Personally I don't think Reflektor was their best, I preferred their previous album 'The Suburbs':
I'm really into indie rock but I've never really gotten into Arcade Fire FP doesn't seem like the place for most indie rock, though
tho http://deadmau5.tumblr.com/post/25690507284/we-all-hit-play
who said you can speak for "everybody", and having read most of that and what he says at the end, he is simply wrong. edit: and not sure what the term EDM entails, putting a box around something is stupid. http://toplap.org/ and also this checkout Amok from the same show if you want (edit2: at the link below) (but it's better to check out the whole album, then here the last song in my opion): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNT4JlKMhwU
I'm really into indie rock but I've never really gotten into Arcade Fire FP doesn't seem like the place for most indie rock, though
Coldplay?
Deadmau5 should have gone with something like "Shoutout to all the artists here somebody actually cares about"
um arcade fire are way more relevant than deadmau5 [editline]24th April 2014[/editline] i mean personally i dont really like them but they're super critically acclaimed
tho http://deadmau5.tumblr.com/post/25690507284/we-all-hit-play
lmao, "we all hit play" [editline]24th April 2014[/editline] can't believe I actually liked Deadmau5 once Arcade Fire is equally shit
If I wanna watch real artists perform, I'd pick the opera before wasting a fucking minute of my life with Arcade Fire. #doyouevenscorebro?
they're both acting pretty pathetic
Rock and rap are dead as far as leading pop music goes. It's all about electronics and DJs from here on out. Singers will only be used by DJs and producers to fill out tracks. Singers won't drive the music, the music will drive them. Rockers in particular are funny when they talk about 'play your own instruments' as if they didn't know that there are a whole bunch of classically trained musicians who don't think an electric guitar is a musical instrument.
People who express their opinions are assholes. Who does that. Win you disappoint me. Keep your opinions to yourself, no matter how true or untrue they are. No one likes opinions. On that note, I agree with him. About 50% agree. Music is music and those who make music are musicians so just make music and if the musicians make comments about music and musicians then those comments are between the music and the musicians and the comments about the music. Still love Win and Arcade Fire, and his wife! Still love Deadmau5 Im okay with this.
