• Steam Music moves into Open Beta

I'll use it if they have some Steam Community functionality and I can make fun of my friends' taste in music
I really hope future games might take advantage of this. For a lot of PS3/360 games, theres an option to play your songs instead of the game songs. For example Midnight Club:LA, and just look at the GTA games on PC. Of course it might not be favorable in some games, but for like racing and open sandbox games, it'd be perfect.
Does steam music detect wav files? Because i noticed that an album which consists of wav files is not in the steam library
It's been what? A day perhaps Still hasn't recognised an update (and yes, I have clicked the option to check for updates)
I need this Steam skin. [editline]26th July 2014[/editline] god there's so much empty space though

Update it or temporarily switch to default and see if it's there then.
I wonder why they don't make the steam overlay moddable. The possibilities would be endless.
IIRC it's a dll that hooks directly into the game. Not a smart idea to open it up
First I've heard of a steam skin interrupting a release
Yeah, some don't some do. Hell if I know why. Like, Metro WP7 works fine, Metro Mod - Gotham doesn't.

Oh yeah, you didn't get the update at all. Not sure what I was thinking. Well, just try fiddling with stuff. Opt out of the beta, then sign out, then sign in and opt back in to the beta and check for steam updates. I dunno. [editline]bananan[/editline] Other than that all I can say is it's beta for a reason, try the Steam Music group or steam support or something.
Wow finally
So it's really just a media player. But I kinda enjoy it.
I wish the music would actually play in the game's DSP, so if I'm in a huge room the music will reverberate and stuff.
awesome i can now listen to drowning pool while playing ride to hell retribution thanks valve
Am I the only one who sees this as actual bloat ware because I have Spotify and Winamp...
last.fm scrobble support or bust I'll probably stick with Foobar anyway.
Yeah, but it'd be useful in some fullscreen games that hate foo_osd and like to crash sometimes when I tab out. Mount & Blade is a primary offender.
Am I the only one who sees this as actual bloat ware because I have Spotify and Winamp...
Yes, the 2mb addition to your already-running steam client is bloatware, Swilly.
Yes, the 2mb addition to your already-running steam client is bloatware, Swilly.
You know that's not going to be two megabytes, we know its going way more than that.
You know that's not going to be two megabytes, we know its going way more than that.
And so you and the 8gb thumb drive you're running windows on will have each others shoulders to cry on.
And so you and the 8gb thumb drive you're running windows on will have each others shoulders to cry on.
I'm sorry that I'm more worried about Steam's stability issues and server issues its been having for the past couple of months than about some little shitty music player that only the lazy would use.
Did you miss the part where the first stage is already in public beta testing: and it's lighter than a feather? [editline]29th July 2014[/editline] wait are you implying that server technicians are the same as software designers
You know that's not going to be two megabytes, we know its going way more than that.
Why would it be more than 2 mb I don't understand?
Wow finally
how do you get different skins?
how do you get different skins?
Download them and place them into your skins folder, then enable the skin in steam.
how do you get different skins?
Valve used to have a bit more documentation in the settings before they revamped it.
I can't even get it to recognize my music.
