Professional fire brigades are paid for in wages by the government, the trucks are government owned and all the gear is supplied by the government, voluntary fire brigades are fire brigades funded/supported by the government in part but staffed with voluntary workers.
Often the latter is an emergency or supplementary fire brigade, helping out when shit really hits the fan, but also often working with loaned material and housing. Sometimes even "bring your own equipment and gear".
Palestine does not have professional fire brigades, they are completely voluntary due to the amount of political mess the area is for so long, therefore if some big fire would hit them they would be less coordinated, trained and equipped to handle it then Israel.
The fact they were donated a fire truck only makes me more convinced my original thought that its completely voluntary departments.

Reading this is heartwarming. Good to know that there are things that transcend politics.

It's also in their interest. If the fire gets into the West Bank, the Palestinian economy is fucked for a few years.
150+ injuries already. 60,000 evacuated in Haifa alone.
I wonder if this will lead to war or not.
No, it's actually a fairly true statement.
Do tell me though, what other countries would you find to be 'decent' there?
well when people like you advocate the genocide of people in such countries, they will be fucked up.
'oh well its fucked, lets just kill them all' is a terrible stance.
Hopefully they will, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
What the fuck, dude

Jordan is a very progressive Islamic Middle Eastern country. It's king pushes gender equality and it has been undergoing massive democratic reform under his rule. Not every middle eastern country other than Israel is a shithole, despite what you may think.
We still need additional help,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told journalists. “I want to thank the leaders of Russia, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus and Turkey [for their aid].
So the Palestinians send help and dont even get included in the thanks... gotta love politics.
Also ive researched the topic and some of the bigger cities have core professional fire-fighting crews, but they heavily supplemented with voluntary fire-fighters and most of their stuff is hand-me-downs.
so i guess i was wrong about my absolute with voluntary fire-fighters.
Hopefully they will, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
If Israel wouldn't help then the international backlash would hurt Israel a lot. Despite what you think, Israelis aren't living monsters who want to kill as many of the poor innocent Palestinians as possible.

They arent fair and balanced either, but rather somewhere in between of those.

It still has a literal king. While Jordan is definitely on the upper end, I don't think it's possible to call a monarchy a fair and just country.

Right, the UK, Denmark, Norway and Sweden are notorious for being unfair and unjust.
According to my old man, we've reached 100,000 displaced. Not sure how accurate his intel is, but he claims to have gotten it from the news.
wut. What country do you think the US split off from?
I'm talking an actual monarchy, where the king has a significant amount of political power due to heritage. Not just a figurehead role like the UK has.
It still has a literal king. While Jordan is definitely on the upper end, I don't think it's possible to call a monarchy a fair and just country.
Not every country holds the same government standards. It doesn't matter if they're a monarchy, their country is widely considered to actually be fair and just. The King is actually reforming the government and its parliament (they actually just had an election) and he has the most progressive policies of any leader in the Middle East. So what if they have a King? The country is generally stable, it's taking progressive steps, and definitely qualifies for most people's definitions of a "decent" country.

Slightly off-topic, but one of my high school history teachers taught in Bahrain once and was shocked that a lot of students had a high opinion of Hitler and the holocaust.

That definitely explains some of Starpluck's creepy old shit.
I think all in all that a lot of Middle-Eastern countries generally tend to have poor enough of educations and limited exposures to others to the point that such prejudice is almost natural. Which inevitably leads to shit like arson.
Still, not much you can do about that kind of brainwashing at a young age. "Food is good, blankets keep you warm, here's the alphabet, and don't forget that Jews are evil".

So, today's news:
Looks like the fires over most of Israel are under control, though new ones constantly flare up. Haifa is still on fire and it looks like it might take another couple of days to get it under control.
My parents have made it to their new home in Haifa this morning and will hopefully be able to remain there, assuming no one will try to set fire to their neighborhood as well.
I'm still waiting to hear from all my other friends that were evacuated from Haifa with their families last night.
This fucked up wind of death that sucks the moisture out of your body the moment you go out leaving you a dried up zombie husk shows no sign of weakening. Thank god for lip balm.
Israel continued to battle fires in different parts of the country on Friday, with outbreaks reported in Beit Meir in the Jerusalem hills, and near Kiryat Gat in the South of the country.
At 6:25 Friday morning Jerusalem Police reported that the Beit Meir fire was a result of arson, and two suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident. A third person escaped the scene and is being sought by Police.
Also on Friday morning, Channel 10 reported that the results of an investigation into Thursday's fire in Zichron Yaakov, saying that the blaze was caused "indisputably" by arsonists.
On Thursday night the number of fires dealt with over the course of the three days numbered around 200, with upward of 75,000 residents being evacuated from their homes in Haifa and thousands more across the country, until Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan declared the general situation “under control” late at night.
Magen David Adom said it treated more than 90 people for light smoke inhalation, and transferred them to hospitals, which remained on high alert throughout the day. At least one person was treated for moderate injuries.
There were no deaths or critical injuries, police said.

As fires raged across Israel Thursday evening eight Palestinian fire fighting crews arrived to Israel to put out the flames.
"Fire doesn't distinguish between Jews and Arabs," MK Ayman Odeh chairman of the Joint List stated earlier on Thursday.

Well, fuck. Why can't everyone be this mature the rest of the time?
I recall hearing there were isolated fires in some relatively remote places, then next thing I know Haifa just turned into a big ball of orange flames.
My boss' entire house has been completely engulfed by flames inside and out, he arrived at our restaurant to tell the news holding his baby daughter and his wife beside him looking completely devastated as you'd expect, a lot of other businesses and homes are suffering as well. Shit is literally fucked. Our manager is an ex-Special Forces with a shady past, who's been through Lebanon the second, stiff upper lip type and is a hell of a guy. This was the first time I saw him disoriented and in tears - the guy just lost everything he has in his life beside his family.
My only reconcile is that I live in Krayot and am relatively safe. Looking out my window, I can still see the massive cloud of smoke over Haifa in the far distance.
Why does it bother you so much? both Israeli and Palestinian fire brigades are extinguishing fire on BOTH territories they own... he's thanking the foreign help for volunteering.
In other news, another arson attack in Kiryat Gat.
