Politics, i mean the fact that Benjamin Netanyahu made a very public thanking message naming all the individual nations that sent help but left out the Palestinian provisional Authority...
I mean seriously... give it a rest already.
Do you have the timeline for the Palestinian fire crews joining the fight and Netanyahu's statement? It could be that he made it before they joined in. I've also read that he did thank them in some articles, but I can't find an actual quote.
Just came up north to visit my family. They were pretty stressed out since a good friend of my parents lives near Haifa. Heck, the police even called my sister in from her leave because of all the chaos. Shit's scary.
Stay safe my dudes!
Why does it bother you so much? both Israeli and Palestinian fire brigades are extinguishing fire on BOTH territories they own... he's thanking the foreign help for volunteering.
In other news, another arson attack in Kiryat Gat.
Benjamin's hypocrisy is pissing me off for more then a couple years now... guess im just bitter about it. i helped with the 2013 peace talks and seeing them go to shit so one-sidedly really left a sour taste of the whole deal with me.

That's nuts. Reminds me of some of the pictures you see from fires in Australia, just that the picture above is in a much more built up location.

When you realize how many people advocate #IsraelBurns, I can somewhat symphatize how paranoid Israelis are about their neighbours

Its a self fulfilling cycle at this point, and the only people capable of breaking the loop is the israeli government. Due to their occupation the palestinian governments simply have no platform to call for moderation without being compared to Vichy France.
The raw and pure problem is that its simply not in the israeli politicians best interest to solve the problem... So they wont.

How can you say that it's the Israeli responsibility while also saying that the Palestinian people can't be moderated in the same sentence? You can't discuss reasonably with a people who don't want to discuss reasonably.

Why do people always think that Israel is the only one capable of breaking the loop?
I'm really baffled by the way you guys jump to conclusions without even knowing what's been happening in the last years.
So, fifth day of the reign of fire.
Fires are still starting all over Israel, some proving fucking hard to put out.
The fire department is spread thin trying to constantly put out fires everywhere, and fire planes from around the world are flying around the clock and dropping orange flame retardant shit everywhere. The glorious Supertanker just made it over from the US of A and is just about ready to start murdering fires American style.
There have been some arrests of people caught while trying to set fires. All of them Palestinians.
As hundreds of fire-fighters spread out to battle the wildfires raging in Haifa, Modi’in, Rishon Lezion and many other locations, a sense of existential emergency has begun to emerge. Among fire-fighters, rhetoric has been transformed from talk of fighting flames to that of fighting a battle.
“We are at war,” Haifa Fire Service spokesman Uri Chibutro told Maariv. “It is very important to listen to all the personnel. At the moment the fire is not under control, and I advise everyone to listen to rescue teams and emergency instructions.”
the problem is palestinians are still clearly pissed off about the situation (as are israelis i assume). have you seen how a good majority of palestinians live because of what has happened? clearly the israeli government has far more power to break that loop however they may. its easy to turn to extremists and radicals when the situation is so dire. i understand a lot of israelis have it pretty terrible too but i honestly dont know what people expect when a nation is literally being strangled.
There has been a very suspicious disruption in the services of one of the country's internet providers (Hot). Someone dug a hole along the route of their underground cables and just sliced off a very large piece. Northern Israel had no internet for 8 hours (that includes me), and other places don't have it because of the fire.
Maybe it was just some accident, but if it is then it sure is a weird accident on weird timing.

continued mass disruption may be the goal in an of itself, but i fear we may see something bigger soon

Everything is possible, but I think all this is just people taking advantage of those fucking winds. Not only are they so hard they can carry a flame for ridiculous distances, but they are so dry they drain the moisture out of everything, turning pretty much all things into potential kindling. Shit my own skin is so dry right now I can probably spontaneously combust if I rub my hands together too hard.
They say it's gonna rain this Tuesday. We just need to hang on until then.
So the Palestinians send help and dont even get included in the thanks... gotta love politics.
Also ive researched the topic and some of the bigger cities have core professional fire-fighting crews, but they heavily supplemented with voluntary fire-fighters and most of their stuff is hand-me-downs.
so i guess i was wrong about my absolute with voluntary fire-fighters.
Palestinians live like shit because their government are still fantasizing on kicking Israel's ass.
Thanks to years of killing and blowing shit up, they dug themselves a big enough hole to bury their dream of achieving independence. The situation is messed up beyond repair and there will never be a two state solution.
The Israeli government have no power on the Palestinian people or their governments. They don't have a partner for peace and giving back land/lifting the blockade will only increase the chances for more terrorist attacks on civilians.
This is the cycle: Palestinians are upset > Commit attacks against civilians and soldiers > Israel increases security by limiting their resources

I just wish that the Palestinians would see that Israeli Arabs are doing absolutely fine and probably much better than in most Arab nations.
