It's only temporary. It's not a permanent ban of those games, and it isn't even a nation-wide ban. Still want those games? Go to another shop.
It's not a ban at all
The way some of you guys form opinions on news articles without even bothering to read and understand them is really upsetting me, it's like you just read the (misleading) thread title and skip the article to write a reply :(
today is a great day friends
are you fucking kidding me
this isn't funny anymore
I know, it's upsetting because I know that's how 98% of the general public reads the news too :(
Well at least it stopped kids from buying horrible games.
By doing dumb shit like this we're doing exactly what he wants us to do. He's winning here and by giving into it by being so dumb that we cancel safe and recreational sport use of guns, it just proves that he did also manage to start a process in politics that will change a lot.
A) I think he wanted to get rid of muslims, not video games
B) There is no "political process" here because the stores took the games off shelves voluntarily
So what's wrong with Call of Duty 4?
it was a joke
Well at least it stopped kids from buying horrible games.
Yeah you're right unjustified censorship is great so long as it happens to stuff you dislike.
Clicking a mouse or pressing a button is quite different from handling an actual firearm
Cultural Marxism at it's best
Oh boy what movies did he watch and what songs did he listen to? They better ban them too :v:
Almost as dumb as the shit that went down in Germany a while back when there were the school shootings, its fucking ridiculous.
I'm glad WoW was taken off. God forbid children should learn how to throw fireballs and rain arrows from the sky.
Read the fucking article you idiots, the games weren't "banned," some retailers voluntarily took them off shelves temporarily out of respect
Exactly.
Out of respect.
Read the article, people.
Cultural Marxism at it's best
Are you joking?
I really don't know, because you are the guy who goes on about how political correctness ruins us.
Read the fucking article you idiots, the games weren't "banned," some retailers voluntarily took them off shelves temporarily out of respect
which is fucking absurd, and either they're brain damaged, or it's simply a ploy to get publicity
either way fuck them.

Little harsh there.
That's not even a lot of titles removed.
Noting really wrong with this. It's out of respect and it makes some sense. They don't want people buying violent games right now because it's almost insensitive to do so.
We had something a little similar happen in the US after 9/11. Certain songs totally stopped being played on the radio because of their political or violent lyrics.

And shit like this will be brought up more and more now, it will be a pain.
today is a great day friends
I'm definitely not complaining.
So what's wrong with Call of Duty 4?
Everything.
The amount of stupid is unbearable.
-Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Classic
That title is just redundant.
Almost as dumb as the shit that went down in Germany a while back when there were the school shootings, its fucking ridiculous.
What happened?
good to see terrorism working as a viable means to change things in our society
it would be silly to investigate further into the matter and perhaps conclude that breivik killed people because he was a psycho and not because he played video games
yep get rid of the games it's their fault
all is well once more
EDIT:
oh wait i actually read the article
excuse me i am an idiot
And shit like this will be brought up more and more now, it will be a pain.
Didn't really answer the question. I mean I can see someone actually using the term "Cultural Marxism", albeit in a very stupid way.
He used crest toothpaste
Lets take all crest toothpaste off the shelves

-Call of Duty: Black Ops
-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
-Call of Duty: World at War Platinum
-Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Classic

-Homefront
What happened?
School shootings, ban on any violent video games. Seriously, I have a steam friend in Germany that paid me to buy him Dead Space 2.
uh, what the fuck?

I'm fine with this

As much as you may not like them (I'm not terribly fond of them either), they aren't objectively horrible games, not even the Call of Duty ones. Repetitive? Yeah, but not awful. Counter-Strike Source is also not awful, and neither is World of Warcraft.
