today is a great day friends
So wait are you saying Sniper: Ghost Warrior was a good game?
I wish people would actually read the article.
Massive overreaction, what about teethbrushes? He must have used one, so we must remove them also from stores!
He also eat food! We will have to starve to death!
I remember when the Virginia Tech massacre occurred and the media tried to say Counter-Strike inspired the shooter.
He's a self proclaimed Christian, I assume the Bible will be taken off the shelves also?
You know what makes pulling WoW off the shelves pointless? The fact you can digitally download it from Blizzard.
You know what makes pulling WoW off the shelves pointless? The fact you can digitally download it from Blizzard.
Yes and you can get Modern Warfare and all of the other games from Steam. The point is not preventing people playing them, it's out of respect.

How about they donate a portion of their profits? Maybe I'm just a cynical bastard, but it seems like they're trying to cash in on the massacre and get some publicity. [editline]31st July 2011[/editline] (in the event they donate a portion of their profits to victims groups I rescind my statements about them being scum)
Respect? How about they donate a portion of their profits?
Why would anybody want economical compensation for losing someone they loved?
You can but you don't have to.
What I've read seemed to indicate conscription exists in Norway? Of course the usual conscious-objecter and university student exemptions apply, though. [editline]31st July 2011[/editline] well, you really would hope the objectors were conscious, wouldn't you.
It's conscientious objector, not conscious objector.
I know, I'm awfully tired, hence the little bit about hoping that they were conscious!
some games getting removed from shelves temporarily EVERYBODY FUCKING PANIC
Yes and you can get Modern Warfare and all of the other games from Steam. The point is not preventing people playing them, it's out of respect.
So if it was out of respect I am guessing that they removed movies, books, and tv shows that included murder too right?
He drank water. He breathed air. Should we start turning the Earth into an arid vacuum too?
It's like you people didn't read the story at all. I swear, whenever something happens to video games, Facepunch gets all pissy and stupid about it. The removal is only temporary, after a week or two, you'll be able to buy your silly CSS and CoD games again.
Oh boy here we go, time to play another round of "WATCH THE MEDIA BLAME VIDEOGAMES FOR VIOLENCE"
Done. Funny how movies and TV and anything else that is violent never counts towards it. I guess its just easier to be a buzz killer and take off the shelve a bunch of games then doing anything else. This needs to stop. This is simply too pathetic. Its like the people who do this are ignorant fools who put the blame at the very first thing they see.
Remember that mission in WoW where you shoot loads of people
So if it was out of respect I am guessing that they removed movies, books, and tv shows that included murder too right?
The article says they did it out of respect for the families, and those are games he mentioned that he played. You're almost acting like it was my decision to temporarily remove those games.
I don't think games are the problem. I though the problem was that he had bombs and guns? Why don't we simply remove those instead of the things that entertain people and actually keep them from killing?
Um, didn't the Head of Government in Norway pretty much say that they should do the opposite of this to not give him what he wants.
Um, didn't the Head of Government in Norway pretty much say that they should do the opposite of this to not give him what he wants.
They can't control companies' decisions on taking games off their shelves, however.
guns are entertaining bombs aren't (unless it is on mythbusters)
Guns have proven to be able to kill people.
If anything, World of Warcraft teaches you how to bash buried humans over the head with a shovel.
The games removed are: -Call of Duty: Black Ops -Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 -Call of Duty: World at War Platinum -Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Classic -Sniper Ghost Warrior -Counter-Strike Source -Homefront
Thank god
-World of Warcraft
NOOOOOOOOOOO *smashes keyboard*
- This is a temporary grip we do out of respect and in respect for those affected, said Stokke.
oh nevermind then.
Cod teaches us how to commit mass murder on little kids?! I though the problem was that he had bombs and guns? Why don't we simply remove those instead of the things that entertain people and actually keep them from killing?
Neither guns nor bombs are the problem, its the mind set of the individual that wields such tools that is the problem. Take away guns and the "bad" people like said shooter will still get his/her/their hands on them, while law abiding citizens won't have legitimate access to fire arms for home defense and/or recreational fun. Fire arms are not the evil thing, for they are just a tool, same as a knife is a tool, or a hammer, or a shovel, or a crowbar, see were I am going here? [sp] If you don't get it, all the things I listed can be used for murder, but are simply tools [/sp]
