Superman would always destroy Batman, as long as Batman isn't the walking Deus Ex Machina with infinite everything in his utility belt
I didn't think the Man of Steel was that bad. But then again, this is FP where everybody is supercritical about everything and nothing is good unless it's Valve.
For a video game, valve games are nice, but film asks for more of your attention and details to see complexities in characters, with pieces manufactured to show inner-workings. I expect more of movies and judge accordingly. You're asinine for grouping people like they can't expect more of a film when the genre has risen and demanded you do so. [editline]21st July 2013[/editline]
Pretty sure there was a phase where most of Facepunch liked MOS but now they suddenly hate it because edgy.
When the film was up and coming, people were excited for a serious superman movie. It's only when you watch the movie do you realize how boring and vapid a film becomes when an Adonis-esque character is taken seriously. The action is nice, but most action is nice in films now a days. It's not impressive. Impressive is a film that can do something different with the material, that pays off, and engages the audience with the emotional state of a character. The film is bad because I didn't feel engaged to fucking superman for some reason.

Superman is omnipotent, yeah, but at the end of the day he's just a Kansas farmboy with a basic education. Batman is the worlds greatest detective and one of the smartest people in the world. Batman has a plan for everything.
But we can assume they've never met before at this point and he doesn't know what to expect...
But we can assume they've never met before at this point and he doesn't know what to expect...
One of Batman's superpowers is the ability to read a newspaper.
It works like this: If Superman just turned up with the intent of beating up Batman, with no warning, he would win. If someone told Batman that Superman was coming in a few hours, probably to punch him, then Batman would probably win. Probably.
And if Superman and Batman put their brawn and brains together, respectively, then they both win.

Previous Supermans and the New 52 Superman have super intelligence and has greater tech to work with than Batman. But I guess stupid farmboy Superman gets his shit kicked by someone with intelligence which is why Superman has never lost to Batman within the main continuity and Superman goes toe to toe with Lex Luthor...

Why does everyone think this is a problem? [editline]21st July 2013[/editline]
One of Batman's superpowers is the ability to read a newspaper.
Plus Wayne Enterprises owns the Daily Planet.

Everyone goes on about how Batman is super-prepared, but that doesn't mean shit against Superman
Also, Batman is far more popular than Superman at this point. The Dark Knight Trilogy was incredibly successful, Batman's had several popular TV shows for about a decade now, DC's "Superman/Batman" comic was recently relaunched as "Batman/Superman"... the list goes on. Just ask your buddies on Facebook who would win in a fight - they'll probably say that badass Batman could beat up that lame old-fashioned big blue Boy Scout. Even though Superman has won pretty much every fight (even that famous TDKR one) people love that victorious Batman. Also Goyer is writing the script - not exactly a man known for lighthearted fun.
Uh, no, he beat the shit out of Superman at the end of the fight, won, and then had a heart attack. Thus the whole "I want you to remember the one man who beat you" thing.
That Superman was weakened by a nuclear bomb prior to that fight and was mostly unwilling to use full force to bring down Batman.
I just found out he quoted Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns when announcing this. This really makes me worried now.
I'd love this if it were anybody but Snyder and Goyer involved, you need someone that can handle witty banter and action sequences. Unfortunately that someone is working with Marvel right now.
FP's movie consensus is even worse than IMDB
But is it worse than /tv/'s? I'd say its on the same level.
Anyone? No?
That Superman was weakened by a nuclear bomb prior to that fight and was mostly unwilling to use full force to bring down Batman.
He still kicked his ass.
Uh, by 2015 I'm pretty sure people will be completely and totally sick of superhero movies.

Batman fought Superman in "Hush". He's prepared. They team up in the justice league, so what's wrong with this cross-over, guys?
Batman blocks out the sun and makes himself a suit out of innocent civilians. What now superjerks?

He had a heart attack.
I can imagine a scenario similar to this. Superman is the angel summoner...
Batman is also a master tactician and one of the smartest men in the DC universe. [editline]20th July 2013[/editline] In the comics he's come up with countermeasures against the entire Justice League that have been found and used against them and nearly killed them all, if im right.
Yeah and then all the members were like, "oh okay, you made countermeasures for us, I guess that's okay as long as you make something against you... right? You did make a countermeasure for yourself... right?"
Yeah and then all the members were like, "oh okay, you made countermeasures for us, I guess that's okay as long as you make something against you... right? What I want: [t]http://www.supermanhomepage.com/multimedia/Wallpaper-Images2/WFinest_SRude02.jpg[/t] What I'll get: [t]http://www.capsulecomputers.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Injustice-Batman-Vs-Superman-01.jpg[/t]
Quit thinking those dc animated movies are actually canon, they've been dubbed down so much. Also In regards to the whole countermeasures against everyone(Tower of Babel). Those plans were batman's, yet they were heavily modified by Al ghul to kill. Batman has never defeated superman In the canon story arc and what reason would they fight, they're bf4e.
He still kicked his ass.
I don't see what's really badass about Batman taking down Superman in that fight then. Clearly, Superman didnt even use the same force he used with Green Arrow.
He's not a god though, you can just shoot him in the face.
Yeah but that's not what Batman does, he wouldn't take direct contact with any of the members if he decided to go rogue. My friend had the same argument that Batman has no supernatural powers, but even without it, he can very easily dismantle every member of the Justice League without ever coming in contact with them. So I guess if they knew Batman was turning rogue, they could easily stop him, but we all know that if Batman were to do that, he definitely wouldn't let himself get shot in the face. You'd have to have something in place so he'd get locked out of his Bat cave or some shit should something happen.
