So make a origin account and install the plugin takes like 5 minutes of your life, worked fine in the alpha.
you have to install fucking plugins too? god fucking damn shit cunt bitch ass
Instead of adding it to Steam..make a chatting engine like it. Everybody gay? (Happy)
Not really too easy to compare, but spiral knights, another java game which also has a separate community on the website has made it onto steam, might minecraft be able to appear on steam like spiral knights?
you have to install fucking plugins too? god fucking damn shit cunt bitch ass
Yeah what the fuck, I could use those 5 seconds of my life for something far more important.
That stab at Origin was awful.
Not really too easy to compare, but spiral knights, another java game which also has a separate community on the website has made it onto steam, might minecraft be able to appear on steam like spiral knights?
The use of Java has nothing to do with it.
It's simple really. Notch wants a cash shop but don't want to pay Steam fees off microtransactios.
MAYBE BECAUSE NOTCH GETS NEARLY 100% OF THE PROFIT CURRENTLY. Is this shit not common knowledge or what?
He pays a ton of taxes on it I believe.
I thought it sounded a lot like what EA said. Not enough odd vocabulary or arbitrary vulgarity for it to be instantly recognizable as a joke.
Hope they work something out, I'm only able to buy shit through Steam because none of the available payment methods allow Paysafe cards which is really annoying.
And taxed 50%.
30%
30%
It's actually 40%.
He can't sell capes on Steam, how tragic.
waitwaitwaitwait selling capes and maps? wtf are you doing notch
waitwaitwaitwait selling capes and maps? wtf are you doing notch
Just be happy they're not hats
It's actually 40%.
Mojang AB pays 26.3% in taxes while Notch himself has an income tax of 55.45%.
Just be happy they're not hats
pretty much the same thing (capes that is)
MAYBE BECAUSE NOTCH GETS NEARLY 100% OF THE PROFIT CURRENTLY. Is this shit not common knowledge or what?

He pays a ton of taxes on it I believe.
You're right Brt, I'm not saying you're wrong but Aman VII raises a good point. I stopped calculating Notch's wealth after he hit 20 Million USD *AFTER TAX* 20 MILLION USD from a game that isn't finished is outrageous, I don't care whether you hate the game or you love it so much you named your dog "Minecraft", it's a very valid point.
pretty much the same thing (capes that is)
A cape doesn't go on your head.
A cape doesn't go on your head.
still a cosmetic item [editline]30th August 2011[/editline] lets just cut this off now i dont wanna get banned
still a cosmetic item [editline]30th August 2011[/editline] lets just cut this off now i dont wanna get banned
If he were to add capes, which I doubt he actually would, I'm taking what he said as a hypothetical. Then it should allow the use of a extra part of the player skin so you can customize it, the exact same way as you customize your character. It'd be a lot more Minecraft-y that way. And honestly, it doesn't need to be on Steam, it would destroy the useful features like being able to use it in a web browser.
And honestly, it doesn't need to be on Steam, it would destroy the useful features like being able to use it in a web browser.
Spiral knights is on steam and you can still play it from a web browser. also, this video has a cape in it. Probably a mod
sell capes or have a map market place on minecraft.net
He's planning on selling digital capes? I would have guessed that its because its already extremely popular and is in beta stage so it wouldn't really need steams help. Also its not like minecraft is a big download or anything.
Does it really matter if Minecraft is available through Steam? I mean, what good will it do, and in the end, why bother in the first place? It is easy to buy the game. Getting the client and server tools is easy too. At it's current state, Mojang can do whatever they want with the game without having to resort to a middle man. Besides, you can already add Minecraft via that "Add Non-Steam Game" option to get the overlay.
Wait, can't you like make a microtransactions system for minecraft through Steamworks? I'm fairly certain you can.
Wait, can't you like make a microtransactions system for minecraft through Steamworks? I'm fairly certain you can.
I think its more of them not wanting to go through the trouble. I mean for a small java game like minecraft steam just seems to much for it.
There's really only one reason to put a game on Steam: exposure and advertising, which Minecraft definitely has enough of already.
Ask anyone outside the internet what Minecraft is, they have no idea.
Ask anyone outside the internet what Minecraft is, they have no idea.
disagree, random people I know got into PC gaming because of minecraft
disagree, random people I know got into PC gaming because of minecraft
People around here don't even know games are still made on PC (well I'm sure they might see the PC logo on some ads and stuff, but it's not like they acknowledge it as a platform, or see the boxed copies at the stores).

Stores like Gamestop and ads on TV seem to only acknowledge consoles as gaming platforms.
