Riots near St. Louis, MO after black teenager shot - Polidicks

Earlier in the day, shouts of "No justice, no peace" and "We want answers" nearly drowned out a news conference as St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar detailed the shooting. It began with an altercation involving two men and the officer around noon Saturday, Belmar said. One of the men pushed the officer into his patrol car, there was a scuffle inside the car over the officer's gun, and the officer fired one shot inside the cruiser. Seconds later, outside the cruiser, he fired several more shots and 18-year-old Michael Brown lay dead. [editline]10th August 2014[/editline] but since a few broke people decide to capitalize on a protest to get some looting done, now the media focus on this story is going to shift to being about how "minorities" are so easy to upset instead of being what it should be: how America has a huge problem with police brutality, which goes doubly for police brutality against minorities.

It is. They are to blame here. I'd advise you check out the footage of it that's available; there's literally no whites rioting or looting or having a go at the police, and if they're smart, they'll stay away. Racial tension is bad enough already as it is. I'm in Columbia right now with some friends; we're planning to head over there tomorrow to check out the situation.

You've been raised your entire life being (correctly) taught that the system which orders the society around you is stacked against you because of your race. You've probably felt the direct effects of political, social, and economic disenfranchisement more than a few times. Violence is never justified, but people being mad as hell about this is a completely reasonable response. Not everyone can afford the cold, sober aloofness that comes with posting about news articles on a video game forum.
