I've always kind of liked small spaces. They're so cozy and everything's right there when you need it
The "Kowloon Walled City" was a clusterfuck of structures in Hong Kong before it was knocked over.

That city was the incarnation of every plumber and electrician's worst nightmares.
Glad they demolished it.

It's like you're a student forever!
The apartments are pretty fascinating but I wouldn't want to live in one, especially if it's with another person since you pretty much have no privacy.
At best maybe one or two nights with a close friend.

And I complain about my bedroom being small, it looks like you've barely got enough room to stretch your legs.
Somehow my sleep deprived brain jumbled that headline all to shit and I read "Images of living King Kong"
i would totally live in one of those. i don't need a lot of space and i would probably spend most of my time exploring hk or working anyways.
Love all of you guys saying that "Part of me wants to live there" and "Oh gee I so want to live there" from the comfort of your houses/mansions. I'm not trying to be an idiot here, it's just that those apartments are practically neatly arranged slums, and people living there might be having a fucking hard life. We don't even know what the HK minimum wage is.

$3.871 p/h
fuck that seriously, crammed in like sheep, not a single leaf in sight. Play music and about 10,000 people complain.
I usually complain about living in the middle of nowhere but all of a sudden I quite having space to move and being surrounded by fields.

My house is already essentially a slum, and I think I could live in that space quite nicely.
And I thought Singapore was super cramped or it will be like this.
Imagine delivering mail in that city. Jesus.
Well not all peoples home in Hong Kong are like that, there are some better one.

If they have postboxes at groundlevel it's the easiest job in the world.

I find this picture particularly fascinating. A dense city with skyscrapers sticking up... on a backdrop of even bigger skyscrapers
Then you realise you can't see the ground or the sky, and it's even more striking.
I could totally live in one of these on my own. Just the computer, fridge, bed and I'm all set. I would imagine there are public baths to bathe in so that's covered too. I bet my weeks rent would pay for a years worth of rent in one of these.

Quite so. Where I live postmen get payed per letter per postbox. It's easy as hell money.

When I was visiting 2 years ago and talked to my aunt and uncle they said there is no government regulated minimum wage and that the cost per sq ft can hit easily over $1,000.
Kinda reminds me a bit from this documentary around 44:00 mark, if you want a laugh check around 40:00 instead.

And people say how great Hong Kong's economic system is.
