RUN FOR THE HILLS PIRATE BAY
I mean that's a good thing imo
Get off your high horse.
They actually put that song on the international vinyl release afterward!
Great for us fans who preordered the album.
i've found that a lot of japan releases from artists have exclusive tracks, and some of them are really fucking good too, such as god bless the girl by david bowie which is only included in the japanese release of the next day
I know the reasoning behind the Japanese exclusives, but it's still bullshit.
I disagree. It'd be a good thing if the actual main causes for piracy were being addressed and causing piracy sites to flounder and shut down. That however is not the case. Piracy sites shutting down like this only serves to help corporations make more money and nothing more than that.
All I'm really getting from this is you don't want to give money to publishers or something. Imo unless there's no way to get something in your country, I'm not seeing justification of torrenting in any way. It's like stealing merch because the people who make the media the merch is based on aren't getting much of the profit and that's a garbage reason to steal anything. [editline]7th August 2016[/editline]
Get off your high horse.
lmfao somehow I'm on a high horse because when I want media I buy it ok
I'm tired of shitty DRM that breaks itself or my computer. Also, now that I'm on Windows 10 - anything that didn't have SecuROM patched out is unplayable. So. Cracks are the only way to play some games that I actually own.
Great for us fans who preordered the album.
Oh yeah, I'm not denying it's shitty, just that it was released later.

Plus on certain occasions, pirate releases of games work much better than genuine copies.
I mean that's a good thing imo
not all torrents relate to what some might say are illegally distributed software as torrents cover a wider range of things other than illegal & dark stuff which is usually the linking chain for some people
I bet this has something to do with the KAT shutdown. The piracy world is already caving in on itself and I blame our fucking government 100%.
This is the ideal time for something like Spotifyflix/steamflix to rise up and take the place of the torrent sites. A paid video streaming site that has everything on it. But no, HBO, Netflix etc continue to screw their own market by providing only 10% of the media there is for 10$ a month. So you need 4 subscriptions to actually get a decent line-up of stuff.

Lots of companies decide their shit is worth more and therefore charges more for licensing fees.

Despite the fact I actually rarely pirate things. (Especially things I don't end up buying shortly after.) The point is they are combating a symptom and not the cause. And the ones who pay the most for that battle are in fat legitimate customers. I've been bitten numerous times by shitty anti-piracy measures despite being a legitimate customer. I should not be punished for purchasing something. Just earlier this year I bought a game and took two weeks to get it working due to the anti-piracy shit while one of my friends pirated it and had absolutely no issues.
you don't want to give money to publishers
As for this part you're completely off the mark. I simply do not care about publishers one way or another. What I do care about are the creators who have put in a lot of time and effort into their work.
The reason Netflix doesn't have everything is licensing issues. And besides deciding that their shit is worth more, there is also “channel wars. Just like with the consoles. All the providers try to woo people over to their side by having the best exclusives. But because consumers want the best stuff both side’s, they end up choosing no side and just pirating everything.
Rutracker is probably the best public one tbh
It's really cool that you guys know about rutracker.org

If netflix could have everything everywhere I'm sure they would, look at their own series. Just took a look at the netflix here though and man it isn't very good.
