Not that milk is the evil of all evils, but valid nonetheless.
Are we just adding "The ____ Industrial Complex" to things to make them sound scary now?
i always drank water in school lol but seriously wtf they're banning chocolate milk because of freakin' sodium that just sounds like an excuse to me, obviously chocolate milk killed somebodies mother
2% milk tastes the best, I always found whole milk tastes too creamy. But why would you want to shoot down milk in school, do you want the friggin soda machines to come back again? "The kids are sick of drinking plain milk and want to have something different, we got to lift the soda machine bans."
When did people stop being capable of drinking water with a meal
I have 2-3 glasses of whole milk a day. Can't eat a meal without it. Funny thing is chocolate just ruins it.
At no point does this video mention strength training. It makes sense that in sedentary adults that bone density would not differ substantially with or without calcium supplementation, but regular resistance training would cause the micro fractures that would cause bone to become stronger. I want to see a study consisting of people told to do regular strength training with one group on placebo and the other group supplementing calcium, both with the proper amounts of vitamins d and k. I will agree that milk is not a magic bullet but it's still a cheap and healthy way to get nutrition. I'm drinking between a quart and a half gallon a day to help gain weight.
This video isn't addressing people like you. If you're actually trying to gain weight, you're not part of the target demographic.
When did people stop being capable of drinking water with a meal
When we got out of the Medieval Ages and more appetizing drinks became available
Connecticut citizen here. This guy is the worst governor we've seen in decades, man. He's completely fucked over CT for the past few years. He tried to get rid of (all) sports at dozens of high schools for "budget issues"
Someone clearly doesn't have kids.
Someone clearly doesn't understand the concept of limited intake and the importance of breaking norms for the health of ones own children.
Back in school, we had Chocolate milk, and pretty decent food. Granted last time I was around for Public school lunch it was in 03... Guess a lot has changed.

They are places of education. If there really are budget issues and raising more revenue would not be appropriate, academically-inessential programs should face the chopping block first. [editline]14th June 2014[/editline] What happened to after-school sports anyways? Or are those the programs being cut by the Governor?

Our technical high schools are already under budgeted, you should see these places. [editline]13th June 2014[/editline] Well, most of them are. Others receive extremely outrageous sums of money for things like color-changing floors.
I think you've got a bigger issue when it's a fact that kids will apparently stop drinking milk if it isn't smothered with chocolate and sugar.
In schools, the fucking cartons of regular milk they have taste like absolute piss I only needed to drink one once to know I'd never do it again growing up [editline]e[/editline] and hell, I like regular milk just the shit they serve you in schools man if they didn't have the chocolate milk I'd have stuck to the water fountains
Why hasn't anyone said anything about Cookies with Milk :(( You guys are missing out
Man, I fucking love chocolate milk. Used to drink only chocolate milk as a kid, Nesquik in particular. I'd buy it at my middle school in CT every lunch, shake the fucker up and down it. Then, one day, they made Nesquik low fat. It tastes way worse then it used to, but it's still drinkable. I never liked the mixes, they were either too powdery even when mixed or too overpoweringly chocolate with the syrups and I could never get the balance right. I've since moved on to water and the occasional coca-cola, but every once and a while I buy a "less than a half gallon in in a weird shape to fuck with you" jug of Nesquik and reminisce about how good it used to taste. Also I usually down the whole halfish gallon in one sitting and feel sick afterwards.
Someone clearly doesn't have kids.
Sorry but if you can't get your kids to eat veggies than your not doing a good enough job. Kids aren't just conditioned to dislike that stuff, my mother always got me to eat that shit and now I laugh at people who can't even hear the word brussel sprout without being a big baby.

The reason why many children dislike greens and other healthy foods is because parents introduce too much junk food, sweets, or other flavorful but unhealthy foods into their diet. In response, the child will prefer the flavorful food over the greens.
Maybe in the West, where everything children eat is doused in sugar. Go visit a tribe in Africa and see how many of the kids bitch about the taste of milk.
How is this related to the thread again? We're not talking about what "a tribe in Africa" prefers.

I know a lot of parents that wont even try to feed their kids greens because "They dont like it"
Fat free milk, 1%, 2%, and then we just jump to 100% fat whole milk. :gasp:
That's perfectly normal though, not everyone likes the taste of milk.
I get that but I don't honestly understand how this can be. I personally find nothing more refreshing than a nice cool glass of milk.
I think you've got a bigger issue when it's a fact that kids will apparently stop drinking milk if it isn't smothered with chocolate and sugar.
My school's white milk tastes like ass. [editline]14th June 2014[/editline]
Does skim milk not exist in the US? Anything in excessive quantities can cause problems. Even drinking too much water can kill you. But milk consumed as part of a balanced diet is not bad at all.
Skim milk also tastes like ass. Point being "healthy" milk tastes like ass.
Someone clearly doesn't have kids.
Do you have kids?
Provides all of the same health benefits with a little added sugar. Still as healthy.
The only type of chocolate that has actual health benefits is 100% organic dark chocolate. In what world is cheap chocolate milk healthy? That's like saying Kit-Kat bars are healthy
If you don't drink the Hershey's syrup chocolate milk you do not deserve my respect.
I get really bad stomach pains and naseua when I drink milk but I still drink like a gallon of it a week, always have. To end the argument of chocolate vs strawberry syrup just mix them both into whole milk, it's the shit.
Lol, chocolate milk in school cafeterias 'murica
Maybe in the West, where everything children eat is doused in sugar. Why do people talk about the western world extraneously as if they're not a part of it?
they should introduce bagged milk
i love the taste of whole milk. the thick, creamy, almost vanilla taste of it is the best thing ever.
