They better implement it. I hate looking up phone sites where they have tons of render with lots of cool shit added and BAM! the real one has none of the functions you had hoped for
Its funny the US will NOT like this, This really isn't new its been out for a while just no one has patented it that was big(and can't be silenced)
Yeah, big oil is going to make sure we keep using our internal combustion phones.
I'm pretty sure this has already been done. http://www.powertrekk.com/ Now we just have to see a manufacturer implement a fuel cell into a smartphone for a week of battery life. I would also be pretty okay with just buying a can of methanol or something, and every week or so just inject some into the phone for functionally instant recharge.
I'm actually curious as to the effect these batteries would have on airport/airline security.
http://gizmodo.com/5065858/panasonic-laptop-fuel-cell-delivers-20-hours-of-power-with-highly-concentrated-methanol Methanol powered ones are less efficient, buuuut methanol is infinitely easier to contain and won't decide to randomly combust with little to no provocation. Also not the first people to consider or produce a functional fuel cell for a laptop. Hydrogen is not a good substance to work with. It is extremely difficult to contain, transport, and distribute.
Agreed, Hydrogen can pass trough a solid steel container. You either have to cool it down alot or let it adhere to another molecule if you want it to stay in one place. Both require a compressor.
Hey, more power to them.
Notice how this thread was rating winner, so much for the whiners saying FP rates dumb to anything Apple.
If you're going to get one, wait two months for them to release a massively better version, like they always do. And don't buy one at all if/when they sue people for using hydrogen batteries.
Bad idea. Turning an iPhone into a hydrogen bomb while on a plane? No thank you.
You're a fucking retard if you think an object the size of a double A battery filled with hydrogen is a threat to anyone.
You're a fucking retard if you think an object the size of a double A battery filled with hydrogen is a threat to anyone.
Does no one understand what a fucking joke is?
Remember that exploit people found that let you overheat a Macbook's batteries? The iPhone 5 is gonna be fuuuuuun
"Good" Apple story? I think not, this sounds terrible. It sounds like Apple being rancid cunts for years to come and suing anyone who uses similar tech. I don't want to choose between a shit phone with awesome battery life or a good phone with poor/average battery life, I would quite like to have my cake and eat it thanks!
Apple? Doing something good? BLASPHEMY!
Apple? Doing something good? BLASPHEMY!
What good?
Anyone know what happened to that rechargeable black sludge looking stuff?

Soon petrol stations for phones
Rofl, the amount of Apple hate is ridiculous. Something original? The iPhone was the original decent multitouch device... The iPod was an original mp3 player offering incredible usability. Their products work, and they work well. I bet a few months later Android will do a similar thing and you'll all jump on the 'oh my god HTC/Android is soo original for doing this!!!1! fuck apple! lol!'

That is like the best advert I have ever seen.
How is that?
He has to be careful, he is made of part Hydrogen too!

Apple themselves claim many old features as "new and revolutionary" even though they are not and sometimes are even stolen.

What we dislike is how Apple themselves steals things then goes sue happy whenever anyone else does it
But can you charge it?
Just throw it into the washer with your clothes, it'll be fine
Soon petrol stations for phones
Whats ironic is the fact your avatar is a barrel of oil/gas [editline]30th December 2011[/editline]

Yeah, big oil is going to make sure we keep using our internal combustion phones.
Poot video here
Fun fact, no one considers the power needed to charge the car, so you still pollute even if you have a electric car.
Or the oil used to create said car.
I am not the only one who thought this.
The hydrogen will be kept is specialized cartridges and you can't refill them once it runs out, you have to go to a nearby apple store and buy a 5-hydrogen cartridge pack for $129.99.
