Not as good as Netflix? It must have like, 3 shows since Netflix has a whole lot of nothing on it.
Netflix has been far better than it used to be for a while.
It's pretty good here in the UK. I'm gonna take a guess and say it's a lot worse in Australia because of where it's located in the world.
It's completely useless here, Amazon Australia just sell ebooks.
Hey, I'm sure it'll be available for download on useful download sites soon after it airs, so I say at least they're back and likely to be better than ever.
Please don't be shit
Hell yes, I accidentally signed up for a year of Amazon Prime, I was on the fence whether or not to continue for another year but this seals the deal.
Free one-day delivery is pretty sweet as well.
Amazon don't exactly tell you but students get the base version of prime free you only have pay a little bit extra for streaming part. You need a ac.uk or .edu email though
Isn't it pretty dumb to sign a deal with a service that isn't available in all countries?
Netflix isn't available everywhere either though.
Top Gear was broadcast here a good few seasons behind BBC and mostly reruns.
Didn't stop me from watching every episode right after their release in 1080p, just so I can observe every single wrinkle on Jeremy's face. Sucks that it's not on Netflix though, that would've been awesome. It's such a great service, especially with some 2 minutes of DNS setup. https://flixsearch.io/ (not a DNS service, but it shows how much there really is content available.)
On PC it's simpler but on PS3 I typically use this https://www2.unotelly.com/home which basically offers unlimited free trials. In smaller countries Netflix is not worth it at all without a DNS service. Atleast not after a few months.
I wonder how restricting Amazon will be towards them. I'm sure they'll try to make it available to everyone since it's loved all over the world. Maybe they just wanted to grab hold of the show to be able to license it out to others. They'd shoot themselves in the foot if they didn't
Prime is worth it for the trio alone.
Prime is worth it for the trio alone.
Prime also has 2 day shipping and discounts, plus Amazon is already cheap. Overall prime basically pays for itself.
Wow this is bullshit.
I remember when amazon was only used for buying books. It should have stayed that way.
No way in hell I'm paying for a shitty prime membership.
Especially not after #primedayfail
Eugh that's shit. I have Netflix :/

Agreed. Looks like I'll have to wait for it to be uploaded elsewhere.

Yes, they totally should have kept to books instead of becoming a major driving force for competition among online retailers.

Honestly, assuming you qualify for it in Canada (which you would, I'd think), Prime's free shipping pays for itself if you do any amount of online shopping. The streaming movies, music, shows, and free ebooks are just a nice perk on top of that. My girlfriend gripes at me for subscribing to Prime, but I definitely get my money's worth. I use Amazon for almost all my non-food shopping needs now. If it's anything I can wait a day or two for delivery on, I buy it from Amazon instead of heading to the store.
Like, just the other day I needed some new scrub brushes for doing the dishes. I pulled 'em up on Amazon, clicked "buy," and they got here yesterday. Same price as anywhere else, free shipping, and none of the hassle. All my payment and delivery information is saved, so it only takes one click. I also needed some sandpaper for a project I'm doing this weekend, and that should be getting here today. Prime is 100% worth it to me for the free shipping alone. It boils down to $8.25/month, and I spent at least that just running back and forth to Walmart for home goods and such that I can now have sent straight to my door. Helps me cut down dramatically on impulse buys, too. No longer do I have to fear my girlfriend walking past the candle aisle and scooping entire shelves into the cart. Having access to tons of free books, movies, music, and TV on top of that? Just icing on the cake, really.
As I said before, the only thing that would really tie Prime up in the perfect little bundle for me is packing Audible in with the membership. I spend all day driving around for work, so I voraciously consume educational audiobooks. Audible being a seperate ~$15/month subscription is an annoying additional expense, even with the one free book a month, and even with the huge amount of utility I get from it. Just for simplicity's sake, I'd way rather they bundle Audible in with Prime (since they're both Amazon services) and get rid of the free monthly audiobook to make up for the reduced price.
Even though I have prime and use it a lot, it is surprising it's on amazon.

Yeah, agreed. Netflix seems a MUCH bigger player in the media streaming world, especially with the incredible original content they've been producing them putting them right up there with big production studios. I very rarely use Amazon's streaming service. Top Gear will give me a reason, I suppose, but it'd be a lot more convenient to have it on Netflix.
I wish there were a service that bundled content from all the main media streaming players. I'm on Netflix, Hulu, and Prime, and having to switch between them to find whatever show or movie I'm looking for is a pain. Give me one dashboard with feeds from all three, and I'll help make you rich.
They better have the proper theme tune. Or, at least, the one James recorded with car sounds as notes.
I'm ok with this, I use prime for a lot of stuff, though I never used the video section that much.
Well that has made my (already easy) decision to renew my prime membership even easier. With the amount I buy from Amazon and save on postage due to prime this will pretty much be a nice free addition.

I see where you're coming from but I already have netflix, If i need scrub brushes I'll pick them up on the way home from work, I don't need to pay somebody so I can pay somebody to get an ITem I can easily get cheaper at the dollar store. This is what doesn't make sense to me. I use the internet to buy things that I cannot get for a cheaper price in retail. Niche things, Like studio equipment, Lighting, etc.
I've never seen something cheaper on amazon than I could get on Ebay or newegg/ any respective website to the item I am looking for.
It just doesn't make sense to me.
I guess I could say I am in a bit of a niche position. I don't like streaming music, I would rather buy the vinyl or own a physical or digital copy, I'd rather read a physical book (as often as i read things other than forums) and I would rather use Netflix for entertainment. I even cancelled my cable the other month to upgrade my Internet package to the fastest one available in my country.
So I can see the point of investing in Prime, Just from my perspective and my personal needs, it seems like I could do better with the plethora of other options available on the internet and around me in real life. What I definitely can see as pretty cool is that amazon is like the walmart of the internet where as it literally has anything you could possibly want.
I got free shipping on literally all my PC parts and saved so much money, prime is definitely worth it.
Amazon in the Netherlands is just a site that sells Kindles and e-books. No Prime.

There won't be any region locking with Amazon Prime will there?
Netflix was always a pain in the ass with it, Canada only having seasons 18-21 and the US having seasons 2-20.

Isn't that the 6 month trial?
They also offer students the full deal at half price making it ~£39 in UK
Pretty disappointed they went with Amazon. It's not available here.

Well, of course, that happens with everything that gets broadcasted on any kind of TV service.

Not any different from when it was on BBC, then.
