The dog that fatally mauled a four-year-old boy was trained to kill and left the whole block in constant terror, neighbours claim.
Jayelin Graham had his throat ripped out by the Cane Corso, known as ‘Machete’, at his home in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday.
The streets would clear when his father Damian 'Dread' Jones walked the dog around - and it even ate the family’s pet rabbit, neighbours said.
Kenny Risher, 50, said that Mr Jones’s dogs were ‘vicious’ and ‘nasty’.
‘They looked mean,’ he told the New York Daily News. ‘Nobody would want to go near them. They were trained to fight.’
‘What a horrible way to die,’ the boy's great-grandfather Ameer Jamaal- Uddin said. ‘I have a lot of frustrations, a lot of emotions, a lot of anger.’
But Mr Jones and his fiancée Saquina Jubeark, a mother-of-four, have insisted the death was a tragic accident and the dog was not aggressive.
He was like a big Scooby-Doo,’ Mr Jones told the New York Daily News.
‘He acted like a big kid and just wanted to play.’
Ms Jubeark returned to the flat with her four children and her three boys were in a bedroom alone when the attack happened, police said,
When she came back into the room the dog had bitten into Jayelin’s neck as his brothers – aged only two and five – hid by a bed.
She tried to get the dog off Jayelin, but it resisted and turned on her a little, an anonymous official told the New York Times.
Jayelin was described by family and neighbours as a ‘bright kid’ who often played outside.
Pictures seen of the family’s apartment show a seedy location with two other dogs, birds and fish.
Jones wore a protective arm guard when training the dogs outside the family’s flat and claimed he fed his dogs ‘gunpowder and meat’, neighbours said.
He was said to hang stuffed animals and footballs on a fence for the dogs to attack.
Neighbour Robin Parkinson said the dogs would kill anything and terrified the whole block.
Two family dogs - one German shepherd and one Cane Corso-mastiff mix - were removed from the home in cages and turned over to officials.
The mother was released after questioning without any charges filed in the mauling.

Again ? Seriously, training dogs to kill should be illegal for civilians.
Put it down.
That really sucks, I hope the family is coping well with their loss.
Put it down.
It sucks that this is the only way to stop the dog killing again
Again ? Seriously, training dogs to kill should be illegal for civilians.
It's not?
You so silly America.
It sucks that this is the only way to stop the dog killing again
It's not the only way they can just put the dog in a cage or something
Give it a good home
in hell
It's not the only way they can just put the dog in a cage or something
Yeah, totally a better solution :downs:
I actually feel sorry for the dog, it now has to pay the ultimate price because the owner stupidly trained it to kill, and the poor kid, getting ripped to shreds by a dog isn't the nicest thing.
See, a cat would never do this. This is why I like cats.
Yeah, totally a better solution :downs:
I didn't say it's better, it's just an alternative.

It would if it could
I feel bad for the dog, he's been trained to kill and is paying the price for the astonishing stupidity of his owner.

Cats CAN turn, and they can easily kill you if they wanted to. The thing is that they won't.
It's not the only way they can just put the dog in a cage or something
Only humane way of stopping it
See, a cat would never do this. This is why I like cats.
No, cats will make your death slow
Again ? Seriously, training dogs to kill should be illegal for civilians.
it is but the police wont do much if they aren't like the ones in usa...
I think the dog is a pit bull, pit bulls are friendly dogs, if trained well they can be a great family pet, but in the wrong hands, a killer is born.........

Finally someone who knows that.
I hate asshole dog owners who own dogs that are trained to be fucking aggressive and they let them run free outside their house. Chain that fucker up or lock him in the backyard if he's gonna attack everyone who has the nerve to walk by your goddamn home. If he's friendly or won't scare randoms walking by, yeah I don't see an issue with leaving him outside unchained but a dog like this? Your neighbours are just going to fucking hate you, bud.

Synelor is just the funniest guy ever.
A similar thing happened to me in my childhood - a huge dog attacked me in a stairway. The owner pulled it away just as it was going for my neck. Ever since I've had a huge fear of dogs. :smith:
Man, this bites.
in hell
Cerberus?
Check it out, another pitbull-esque dog that killed someone...
...seriously, these dogs need to be banned or something...

I had a fear of big dogs for a while, but that was because my 8-9 year old ass got thrown to the ground and his face all slobbered over by a St. Bernard.
This thread is probably just going to be a Cats vs Dogs thread.
Cerberus?
All he needs to do is grow 2 extra heads and he's all set!
Go die Themercwithamouth!
Or why cats always step on your dick when you're on your bed.

We must fight to the death then.
Did you not see the part where the owner trained it to kill? It's not just Pitbulls that can be trained to kill.
No, i got that part, but its mostly dogs like this that kill anyway...
