His daughter sounds like the kind of person I'd hate to be around.
She sounds like one of these people

You can't force a teenager to sit down and talk. Have you ever sat down and been completely open with your parents? It's the individual who has to be at peace for the relationship to be at peace. Clearly she has issues for her to swear/insult so openly towards her close family. A lot of people do that, makes me sick.
yes, i have. i'd find it pretty unusual that anyone else wouldnt have either- have you not? i have a lovely connection with my parents disconnecting yourself with your children for the sake of 'HURRR FAMILY VALUES RESEPPECTT IN DIS HOUSEHOLD!!!!!" is fucking stupid (not to mention using the fact that he paid her for shit as an excuse for gathering respect), and for your parents to do such a thing, it's incredibly easy to see how she found it easy to swear at her parents and openly insult them. if the father is so wise, then why is it that he chose to just repeat exactly what she did (publicly humiliate her in order to see his view get across) on a much larger scale, instead of teaching her the right lessons about life
She sounds like one of these people
All my RAGE. What happened to kids who are grateful? I did not even have a cell phone until I got a job and bought my own. I can say that seeing the people on my college campus they are in for a surprise when they actually start working for a living.
Anyone remember this?
I do think it's justified. But it probably won't do any good if he doesn't explain his thoughts rationally. If he doesn't, then it's going to distance him and his daughter more since they're pissed off at each other through time.
How can anyone applaud this cunt? She DARED to say something negative about her family and use her free speech rights and her property is DESTROYED? How is this "good parenting"? Good parents don't be immature and destroy people's property for daring to disagree with them. Good parents don't destroy their child's school lives for spreading their opinions. Good parents DON'T DO THIS.
First off, unless she worked and paid for it, and it doesn't sound like this was the case, the laptop wasn't hers, she was just allowed to use it. Second, she didn't just complain, she bitched behind their backs on Facebook where everyone but her parents could see. Third, if her school life is 'destroyed', she brought it on herself. Her parents house, feed, clothe, educate, provide entertainment and even help her find a job so she can earn some money for herself and then she has a problem with doing a few chores which she should be happy to be doing for them in return? Yeah, she had this coming.
SLOWEST DEATH IMAGINABLE! WE SHALL TIE HIS BODY TO A TRUCK AND DRAG HIM ACROSS THE SLUMS OF BANGLADESH WHILST THE LOCALS STONE HIM TO DEATH! SCUM OF THE EARTH!

It's the parent's duty to make the child understand their reason for their actions.
Anyone remember this?
The kid on the camera sounds like Walters kid from breaking bad

I'm only here because the action he took was pretty badass. Onto your point. A big part of my life is connecting with people, and the people who I have found it easiest to connect and understand are the ones I'm closest with. Yes there are rough edges to my family, but as a whole, the individual is the one to bring the love into the equation. Some don't have it better off to be so open with each other, that's probably an understatement.. In this day and age, people worry far too much about the menial things in their lives.
That's a redneck right there. Got a problem? Just shoot it.
If that was a redneck he would shoot his daughter, not everyone who speaks like that is a redneck. Besides, he said "your mother" and "your step-mother", not "my sister" and "my other sister" :v:

Most kids like those in the image only think of what they do not have/receive and never realize how lucky they really are. When my parents did things for me I said thank you, not because I felt I had to but because I understand the amount of work they have put in for me.
you're mixing up hillbilly and red-neck
Wait, there's a difference?
Came into the thread expecting him to walk into the room and start blasting the computer. What he actually did wasn't all that bad to be honest, not much different from just taking stuff away from the kid.
Wait, there's a difference?
Redneck is an offensive term referring to people who work/worked in agriculture and had sun burns on their neck. Hillbillys are ignorant people who try to brag about said ignorance, fun fact most people who call themselves rednecks are actually hillbillies who have no sense of the history of the term. Hillbilly redneck

Why not shoot the daughter instead?
Why not shoot the daughter instead?
Because that would be murder and it would solve nothing.
Augh, he probably has a gun safe he could have just locked it in, that's such a waste of money.
one thing I don't get: He spends $130 on her WHILE she's on his punishment period.
Augh, he probably has a gun safe he could have just locked it in, that's such a waste of money.
That's what my parents did to me when I was a teenager. Then again, I never shit on them like that anywhere, public or private.
True american hero
Because that would be murder and it would solve nothing.
Well it would be murder, but I think it would have solved a lot of the issues with her :v:
Augh, he probably has a gun safe he could have just locked it in, that's such a waste of money.
But it's a amazing lesson that might help his daughter for life. I was a lazy cunt when i was younger i had to pay for it. Looking back i think it was worth it. Parents are fucking pussies these days, kids turn into assholes.
Because that would be murder and it would solve nothing.
you must be a genius
Shooting the expensive hardware just to prove a point seems retarded to me. Take the laptop away or wipe the harddrive or something. Some people got a buttload of money to throw around it seems... if it's always like this, I can see why the daughter turned out to be this obnoxious.
The point isn't merely taking the laptop out of the picture, it's to send a strong, clear message. Yeah, he could've just "taken it away" or "wiped the HDD", but that still leaves the possibility of getting said laptop back before it is intended to be returned. By destroying the laptop that HE likely paid for anyway, it sends the message of "Y'know what? This is me giving a fuck about your 'problems'."
lol the age we live in. spoiled children think they deserve money for washing their own clothes.
one thing I don't get: He spends $130 on her WHILE she's on his punishment period.
because he was intending it as a gift at the end of her punishment period instead she goes behind his back and posts this shit, so she clearly doesn't deserve the gift he had prepared.
