Yeah, I really hope Eli is the first to get left behind on a planet.
http://www.hulu.com/watch/99870/stargate-universe-air-parts-1-and-2 Its posted on Hulu now so you can at least watch it with some decent speed and quality if you missed it
looks bad, I never could get into Stargate.
OMFG the special effects were awesmome [sp] Aww and the lighting on the hataks and deadalus were to die for[/sp] :buddy:
The pilot was awesome!
so why did the planet explode if it was under attack from 3 hataks in sg1 the bombarding power of a couple hataks was generally nothing, like barely enough to blow up a compound on the ground, just lots of lights and cool sound effects also, why couldn't carter's ship easily get rid of them? that ship apparently had asgard weapons or should have, which cut through ori shields like butter, but it didn't even look like they were attacking
The power source was tied to the planet and caused a chain reaction?
The core of the planet was nuclear or something like that...
Stargate Universe? More like Battlestargate Universtica amirite
Stargate Universe? More like Battlestargate Universtica amirite
And that's bad? Battlestar Galactica (reimagined) and the whole Stargate line are some of the most highly rated sci-fi's ever. It looks to me like some of the special effects artists from BSG are doing work on SGU, the only thing different from BSG's graphics is the shaky camera.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that I saw similarities between Universe and Battlestar, and I liked them. I was just making a shitty joke.
Anyone else think Destiny looks fucking awesome?
According to the director, they are trying to make everything look steampunk now.. If you look closely you can see the design.
I don't really care for the direction of Sci-Fi, I prefer the older "adventure a day" format where it's general more upbeat and about exploring interesting ideas and worlds over the darker, plot-driven shows. In other words, Lost in Space > :lost: in space.
It'll probably go back to the adventure a day shit after next weeks episode.
I found that the lack of transitions between past and present were very confusing.
Just saw it, AWESOME! Can't wait for air pt3!
I didn't like it as much as the other premieres of stargate shows. Seemed alot more unbelievable drama has been thrown in
Stargate SG-1 had many drama written all over it. But it had it's in-jokes and what not. Still had all the emotion. But not even sure in Universe, now it's different, that I didn't fell emotional in the Air Part 1 and 2. Sure, they were now trapped on a ship that's transporting itself to different locations in the universe, but not much for me to cry about. But it'll be fun while it lasted. BUT IF I SEE THAT ELI ONE MORE TIME...... But he did something useful, and spied on that chick with the robot camera. And Shooter McGavin, of course. He was so awesome. (Yes, I do realise I forget the actor's name, and not it isn't Tim Curry). But it might get better later on, if we get to see more old favourites. Please bring in Teal'c. Anyhow, I'm not sure if I'm impressed to see Jack O'Neil. I'm sure it was him at Eli's door. But it weird. Lol, at three But's. See what I did there. I'm looking forward to see many people die or left behind on planets. But then it'll feel like Caprica in BSG.

^ You exploded.
I think the sex scene was unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against sex scenes, but it did nothing for the plot at all. I figure it was just a way for them to try to make the show more mature... but it was a strange way to go at it.
I don't like the fat kid. He's not funny at all.
wait what sex scene?
the one with eli and dr. rush. be glad you missed it
It seems average at the moment, not at the quality of 90% of the episodes from the other stargate series, while it's better then the horrible quality of 99.9% of things on TV these days it could be much better. The non linear scene sequence was annoying and it appears they are attempting to mimic the sub par quality of lost. Retarded plot devices: Not using a pole to press the button to close the door. "HELP WE'RE TRAPPED ON AN UNKNOWN SPACE SHIP WITH NO WAY TO CONTACT EARTH" gone in 30 minutes. The latest in earth's secret bases getting owned by a few Ha'Taks. The latest in earth's space ships getting owned by a few Ha'Taks, when it should have been the other way around (if you have watched the other stargate series you should know this :smug:) A few Ha'taks managing to destroy an entire planet just by blasting away at the surface. The best of the best freaking out and arguing out after not showing up at earth and then attempting to steal the command position from other people. Drama from "the best of the best" (why would you want to go back to some boring college when you are an awesome space marine?) I think it's going to go like this: Average show > it gets good > the execs think it's costing too much money > they fire the good writers and replace them with shitty writers > they get rid of all the special effects/envournments and replace them with generic corridors and renaissance fare planets > it sucks > the ratings drop > they say "SEE WE TOLD YOU PEOPLE DON'T LIKE SCI-FI TV SHOWS" > it gets replaced with more ECW
wait what sex scene?
They don't show anything :argh: They could if they wanted to, sci-fi is not a broadcast channel so they aren't bound by the FCC's shitty rules.
also they air'd tits from the first episode of SG1.
That was when it was on showtime (sci-fi bought the rights to the series from showtime, season 6 was when it changed over) I'm not sure if sci-fi is cool and edgy enough to air the first episode un-modified, have they done it?

I take back everything I said. I expected this show to suck. I was wrong. I can't wait for the next episode.
