Stargate urghhh, Doctor Who = longest running sci-fi series.
Thought it was pretty good, darker tone compared to previous stargate series, I have high hopes for it.
Stargate urghhh, Doctor Who = longest running sci-fi series.
Stargate SG-1 is the longest running American sci-fi series.
It was shit, and here is why. O'neil is fat Hopefully it gets better Edit: fat kid dies first.
Stargate: Galactica..
It was shit, and here is why. Reason why the first few episodes of atlantis kicked ass, was because there was so much danger. City was about to collapse due to the pressure of the water. They immediately encountered the wraith, which before they became a joke, were actually scary'ish. We actually saw the danger, we actually saw the water, we actually SAW the threat. what we have with universe? Few people on a space ship. which is flying around for, what, hundreds of thousands of years? and when they enter the ship life support suddenly starts failing? And why does it fall apart? we could see the danger with atlantis, we could see the water, we could see the wraith, that's what made the first episodes so epic. What do we see with universe? We can't see the threat, we can't see the enemy. therefore it's less exciting. Only thing making it exciting atm is the actors freaking out because most important thing for the beginning of a series.they're running out of air, and then they pull numbers out of their ass like: " we only have 24 hours left " But to make something exciting, in a movie you need something visual, and that's exactly the thing missing so far. So Universe failed in leaving a good first impression, which is the Hopefully it gets better Edit: fat kid dies first.
fix'd And You just want it to be a pure sg1 clone like it was with atlantis, too bad they stated that the show was gonna be different from sg1 while still remaining with the stargate feel to it. And they did just that.
Well you have to remember folks that universe is more focused on character depth (which SG-1 lost and resulted in the show being less awesome) But with that said the first episode was more than likely trying to establish the characters personality etc. I think later it will start to see more action judging by the names of the episodes later on and SG-1 and Atlantis where beaten to death already since they had ran out of unique ideas. So much so that the show was making fun of its self over the fact how many times the base had been taken over or they brain washed or captured and escaped again etc. We don't need another show like that again I primarily like the fact that they're not given some super incredible technology that's millions of years old and looks like new "cough" Atlantis "cough" It instead its like "lol ur ship is borke and rusty"
According to the director, they are trying to make everything look steampunk now.. If you look closely you can see the design.
Watch them get to the engine room and some Ancient is still shoveling coal into a boiler. I really like the new look though. SPOILER:
A few Ha'taks managing to destroy an entire planet just by blasting away at the surface.
No, the planet got destroyed because the massive power draw to dial the ship (which is Galaxies away) made the core unstable. The gate was powered through the planet, like that one episode of Atlantis where these dolts were powering a shield 24/7 with geothermal and it caused a magma chamber to well up. I'm sure that the Destiny doesn't have nearly enough power to dial earth, since its thousands of years old and it required all the energy of a planet just to dial it in the first place. Perhaps they can find some ZPMs, or reroute power from the drive that currently propels them (don't think it will be enough)
Watching the new episode, laughed at Rush getting his arse kicked.
I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for more. What I find interesting is that they have a show they could end at ANY time. Similar to BSG really, [sp]they could have found Earth at any time[/sp] and ended the series if it needed to be ended without cheating the viewer. They could do this in Universe too, simply by doing an episode where they find a magic gate and travel back to Earth.
I think the sex scene was unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against sex scenes, but it did nothing for the plot at all. I figure it was just a way for them to try to make the show more mature... but it was a strange way to go at it.
It was a pretty obvious nod to BSG as that has a sex scene in a similar kind of room very early on in the show. I thought it was unnecessary but it set the tone for the series. After all this is a show with lesbians and stuff. I'm waiting for christmas to buy SG- Atlantis to catch up. :c
It's a completely seperate plot. I don't think any cast members from atlantis have even been shown. Let alone anything about atlantis even mentioned. It's only been O'neill, Cartor, Jackson, (Where's teal'c?).
*zing* I still haven't seen the SG-U series yet. I'm waiting for christmas to buy SG- Atlantis to catch up. :c
I wouldn't wait to watch Atlantis, SGU is separate. There hasn't been anything so far that is at all similar to Atlantis.
What was that shuttle doing at the end? Oo This one:
Is that a face in the middle window or am I losing my mind?
air part 3 sucked even worse. sga and sg1 all had fight scenes/space battles the first episode. sgu for the next 5 shows has nothing but listen to the tittle air, water, life, darkness wtf come on so there telling us that for the next 75% of the show nothing will happen but trying to fix the ship btw with no cool anything all i see so far is crying and battle star gallatica style camera work.. the show sucks big time
enhanced picture of the face EDIT: make sure you got enough contrast on your screen, and sit straight, face directly in line of your monitor, it's there!
enhanced picture of the face
Whoah I just saw that picture linked to my by a friend. THATS CRAZY MAN! But yeah, nice eye you got there. Still don't see it. :v:

And Spoiler [sp]2 People on the desert world get trapped when they go through the stargate to another planet.[/sp] As for they dialing back, if you guys haven't noticed the Stargate is different, every time it gets shut off it blows out a type of gas, also that it doesn't seem to lock its chevrons when it gets dialed or dials, it just flashes on. And they have mentioned Atlantis in the first episode like once and that was it.
Let alone anything about atlantis even mentioned. It's only been O'neill, Cartor, Jackson, (Where's teal'c?).
I think they mentioned getting the 9th chevron address from the ancient database from Atlantis. But yes, they didn't show any Atlantis crew.
Hey, what happened to the guys that went off to search the 'locked out' planet. They never actually recovered them... Unless they recovered them during the 6 hours that they had from when they went to the planet and when the ship jumped to ftl. But that would be kind of bad writing, if they didn't even show them coming back.
Being that they have a lot of people on aboard Destiny, they would need to get rid of others for the time being. But the song at the end of quite awesome, and basically the whirlwind was a ancient obviously, taking the shape of the priest. Reminds of Lost's smoke monster. I'm quite sure Teal'c is still part of the Jaffa Nation, working with them. Still many system lords out there, as we knew at the end of the Stargate Continuum movie. Nice to see him again, but oh well. A third sg-1 movie in the making.
another let down by sgu. just saw the new episode but i think ill stop watching till the last 2 eposodes till they take an entire season to get the ship working
It'll either get good thoughout the season or turn to the crapper til the end of the first season. Basically SGU is about survival, instead of space battles. Most SG-1 was about survival as well, but SGU focuses on characters that are lost in space for real, on a automatic dialling range thoughout the universe in search of home. With limited time. I'm sure if they do meet real enemies, instead of themselves. Lucian Alliance is one. Goa'uld?. Who knows. Most of them are defeated anyhow. I'm sure there Replicators still out there, but most of them wiped out. The Wraith, not sure, there is no real big leaders, looks like they are all together sucking up human life. Needs more Furlings. (no yiffing in hell). Though for Universe, they might make a new enemy for them to encounter. Soon enough, season 1, would be about survival, and getting used to their ability to survive. But it's what the series will be about. Like every tv show. lol.

I always thought it was a ancient spying them.
It was the guy who gave his life up, so they could have more time to fix the life support I guess one of them pressed a button to eject from the ship
No. Malozzi said it wasn't a shuttle pod.
