Matters of personal belief rarely need to be backed up. It's the moral sense of the person. I believe gay marriage is highly immoral and degrading and should be banned. I don't need to give explanations on why I believe so, it's what I believe is immoral, and the sense of Right and Wrong in people is constant, and varies from person to person.
Of course they need to be backed up. Killing is wrong because if infringes on the person's right to live and it make their friends and family feel sad. Stealing is wrong because it's not of the persons right to take it without permission. Rape is wrong because the majority of people feel very bad and violated when they're raped and they can get an STD. It's not hard. Every rational opinion has a reason to it. Yours doesn't.

I believe wearing the colour green on a Tuesday to be immoral, and I'm going to get all my friends to form a crazy pressure group who'll all vote on this and hopefully we'll make it illegal to wear green on Tuesdays! You have to have a reason as to why you see something as immoral and degrading. Why? Is it because gay people do it up the butt? Do you just get freaked out by gay people? If you can't back up your opinions beyond "just because" then you have no right to deny this right from people.

That makes a shitload of sense, doesn't it?
Banning something based on religious morals and prejudices is wrong.

So you just assume your opinions are completely correct just because you have "politically correct" opinions?

If person A isn't violating person B's rights, then there's no purpose for that law to exist. It's that simple. The belief alone makes you a horrible person, and the fact you call it immoral for no reason makes it even worse. That's not even prejudice because you can't justify it, it's just plain hate.

I find it funny I get called an idiotic, prejudizing bigot just because I'm standing up for my beliefs.

"This is wrong because God said it is" is a circular argument. The only asshole here is you, because you're willing to use religion as a veil to hide the fact that you simply hate gay people.
Because of the fucking concept of equality which this country is founded upon and because Abahamic religion along with many others have no evidence to substantiate any of their texts.
So because the Bible has no evidence to support its validity that means some of the morals taught in it are invalid? You're also forgetting the United States was founded by Protestants who wanted a religion based on Judeo-Christian ethics. Saying you support the way the government was founded but saying religion is just one big lie makes you nothing but a hypocrite. why are we even arguing with this guy just assume he's mildly retarded/homeschooled and move on

He is*such* a troll.
I find it funny I get called an idiotic, prejudizing bigot just because I'm standing up for my beliefs.
You deserve it. You're openly admitting to hating a group of people for no reason.
just poppin in to say that gays own

In my mind, I'm right, in your mind, I'm wrong. That doesn't give you a right to assume your opinion on me being an idiotic bigot is right. It's my moral opinion, so why not just deal with it?

Now, this doesn't apply to all morals, of course, but your opinion on gay marriage is one that somewhat worries me. That is not a moral you base laws off of.

YOU ARE THE DEFINITION OF A BIGOT.
my opinion: gay marriage shouldnt
LGBTQ people rock and homophobes are totally just jealous that we can throw way harder, funner parties than them. Also if you swing both ways it's two times as fun. Bisexual ftw! =D

The bible says gay marriage is a sin. Well aren't lying, cheating, gossiping, etc. also sins? If we went by that, we'd have to deny all these people their rights. I'm going to openly say that I'm a Christian, and I'm pretty sure God never said, "I H8 GHEYS". I'm not very articulate right now, so blah.
So because the Bible has no evidence to support its validity that means some of the morals taught in it are invalid?
Morals are subjective, there are no invalid morals. But morals with no legitimate reasoning are stupid.
The founding fathers were secular realists, they believed in an Abrahamic God, but they believed others didn't have to.
The church who made this vote didn't get up and yell at everyone "You're not Christian so you're goin' to hell! That 49% that voted against us are all going to hell!" They called it a victory for God, they never said they were going to force people to be Christians. That was what they did in the Middle Ages, not any more.
Also you're a bigot because you have no substantial evidence to justify the disapproval of a certain lifestyle.
Cool, my opinion is your opinion is stupid.
Opinions are opinions.

And don't pretend they don't believe that being gay will send someone to Hell.
